Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Big Fulla wrote:Hills, get ready to see the Wizard up close and personal this year. Muffy Kartinyeri is a gun and nothing short of it. He'll probably win the medal, if he can stay injury free and he'll run all day, rain, hail, snow, blizzard or shine (lees likely to be shiny).

All other talk of any other recruit is futile as Muff has been burnin up ovals since he first played for South Primary School back in Murray Bridge as a 3 foot rover. He's only grown 2 foot but try and stop that, teams been tryin for years with very little success.

Well done for coaxin him to the Hills, enjoy it while it lasts.

Where is he going to run, he's playing at Ironbank! It's more crowded than the stirls on Friday night. If he doesn't bump into someone in 2 seconds, you will know it is the warm up prior to the game.

Very risky talking someone up so highly prior to them playing in the league.

I'd wait and see how he goes before saying he'll win the medal.

A few of our 'glamour boys' will take some beating for the votes from the men in white! Hair straighteners or not!

yeh i agree with spearhead there arent to many places to hide at ironbank. same can be said for bridgey, his pace wont be a massive factor when the grounds get all boggy either so i reckon those mail medal predictions are a bit premature like DA said wait a couple of rounds before singing his praises

i'm on big fulla's side!!
Muff is a genius!!!
i've seen and played with some talent in the hills but muff will be the king!
the "glamour boys" from lofty have some skill but steal votes from each other.
Uri's are similar!!!
when muff comes to play he'll dominate!
don't take hime lightely is all i'm saying!

muffy will have know problems with the small oval at iron bank, he has played last years at tailem which oval is about the same size. He is a gun if he has his mind on the job the best tackler i have seen for his size as well as being quick.

Merv will go very close to medal favourite very early.
If he is committed he will play a storm but Ironbank would want to treat him right from the get go or he will head back to Talem bend. A few of you boys are right though, he will end up back at Talem bend inside the next two years.
I've never heard of him dodging on sign on fee - please explain, I know Mervin very well but havent heard this.
I cannot believe he left Talem Bend, Ironbank must have plenty of money - we are talking in the relm of 500-700 a game surely. Muffy can play and knows it, he's not a big head but makes sure he gets what his talent deserves thats for sure.
You boys will love watching him play when he is at full flight, the funny thing is - deadset - he always seems to be at full flight.
If I knew he was recuritable I would pay him, he makes up for atleast two players in the middle easily.

This has turned into his fanclub forum!
So how did TB go with him last year, did they get a flag (forgive my ignorance)?
IB used to throw some coin around, but $700 a game? Not sure about that. Maybe he knows someone.
Any Ironbankers out there wanna comment on his training etc? And other recruits that they'll have there with him.

Talem always get good service out of him, close to a flag two years ago, not sure about 06.
Doubt anyone would follow Muff but TB used to pay his rent all year around and all soguths, he wouldnt left lightly is all Im saying.

i highly doubt that the muff will be taken lightly by any team in our league augg, however saying he is a mail meadal favourite at this stage is lunacy

Tailem went bottom last year and Muff had a bit of trouble with injuries. I agree he is one of the best rovers I've deen play the game but he's not getting any younger.

I believe one of the factors Muff left is because Dent came into Tailem and cut all existing players' payments - including Muff.

With the injury troubles he had last year, I think IB will find it hard to get him on the track week in week out. The cold weather in the hills (esp. training nights) will not help his cause.

I also agree with the doubts about him being there in 2 years time. I'd be very surprised if we see Muff finish his career at IB.

Muffy has been training pretty solidly... As the Indian ( whos played in many leagues and association games) has said previiously he would be regarded as probably the best player in country footy. He is seriously lightning.. doesn'tneed huge ovals to kill teams because he will be next to you then one second later he is 10m away.. fights hard for the ball and gr8 chaser. its all you need to destroy teams. Its amazing how he can go from jogging to flat out without looking like hes putting in any more effort. Trust me it will be good for hills football. Gr8 to watch.

I believe he came to IB due to the Wendelbourne connection. And it appears Howser and Graetz have followed from TB.

It is huge call to say hes medal favourite but I guess when you've already won 3 of em, youd be up there in the betting.

Only time will tell!!

How about this for a topic, Mt Lofty FC. Are they any good?
Word has it two recruits by the name of O'Gorman and Woite (not sure if spelt right) were on the gas sunday night at Henley Beach and had the suit cases slapped out of em by one bloke before secruity could save em, all started over young O'Gorman mouthing off - as usual I hear.
Can either play the game ??

FM - interesting topic.
They're premiers, they're good. Light years ahead of most teams last year, with Uri's not too far off.
I think you meant Waite. Waite can definitely play and O'Gorman I think was in B's but seemed to have some go about him.
They have both been playing for a couple of years.
Haven't heard anything about that incident though. Bad?

What does this have to do with their footballing ability? Yes both boys can play the game very well.

Think you'll find O'Gorman only played in the B's GF because he got suspended at the start of the finals series and had to come back through B's.

Can someone explain how the clearance system works in the Hills League.....for example in the SAAFL if after 2 weeks a club does not clear a player the player can leave with no issues they also have a rule where a club can put down a reason not a clear a player as "required player".

Is this different in the Hills?
