Postby Junior » Fri Mar 09, 2007 11:21 am

Does anyone know who Lonsdale are playing in their trial games? Should be interesting to see how they've gone over the off season, haven't heard much about them?

Aldinga will probably field a weaker team during the first two trials against mitchell park and portland due to 7 new players playing in cricket finals over those weekends. We will probably field our strongest team against Porties.

Every team during the year has to cope with the coming and goings of players due to injury etc... 7 players missing is still probably a good indication of how they are going to go during the year.... the strength of a team is really measured by the ability of its top 30-35 players. If you cant beat Mitchell pk with your 2nd string team... you wont match with any of the top 8 SFL sides.

I only said that for those who might go watch us in these trials so they can understand why there may not be a lot of new talent in the side. Besides, we never said we were going to match the to 8 sides this year. sides like noarlunga couldn't match them last season we just want to be more competitive this year.

Lions have trial game against Salisbury west in a couple of weeks time

Player wise the Lions are probably a bit below last year as recruits have not yet signed but i expect lions to have a better year simply because our core group are young and improving and this is by far the best pre season we have had. Dougy has had the players training longer than they are used to and they seem to be enjoying it and that should show onfield ....... Last years recruits Harris, Curyer, Patto have all re signed and brought a couple of mates out ..... Lions are one of the few teams outside top 6 that have been able to back up and play finals in consecutive years last year which was an achievement in itself but Doug has hardened up the players and gotten them fitter so i expect them to be more competitive with top 6 over 4 quarters this year

RE: COACH 04 ASSESMENT OF ALDINGA

Postby THE BARKING SPIDERS » Tue Mar 13, 2007 2:30 pm

TO COACH 04:
regarding what you said, im 1 of the 'retreads' that got mentioned for ripping the club off, a massive $60 per game, think the other retread got paid bout a third more for coaching. after games at least we would buy more than 2 cokes & a packet of chips, i know i would roughly spend $100/night, is this ripping a club off? maybe your pissed off coz we got more respect from the club than you ever did & are always welcomed back there. once again this doesnt sound like we ripped the club off, does it. although it must be pretty embarrissing to coach a winless side with no cattle & be told your sacked, think that proves how much of an uninspiring dud you were. the reason why we left was the lack of commitment shown, it looks like that has now improved with the majority of the deadwood gone & all the recruits from last year & this year fully committed.
so coach 04 next time you want to slander me, go & check your facts a bit better you FAT BASTARD.
talking of ripping off & being embarrised, how was SAFM wedding.
last of all how is the rent a crowd bussiness goin?
