Not much action around Ironbank a few quality in and only a couple out those outs were not overly important to fringe a graders at best here looking forward to more improvement from the young thunderers this season .

There have been a lot of outs but the raiders are still getting 30 - 40 out at training each night. All the people that have left have just made spots available for younger lads who are keen to play A grade for Bridgy. It is a good place to be at the moment... far from death knell sounding! The most loyal of players are still there as always.

Jason has moved to the hills from Tailem Bend, has cousins who play at the club.

PS who is custy???

Justin Summerauld. Not sure of spelling.

Those younger lads may be keen but are they built to play A grade football?

I can only think of the Smith brothers as the loyal players..

All of the senior players still at the club are the loyal ones... simple. The mass exodus from the club has left only players that absolutley want to be there and want to play footy with each other.
The average age is probably about 21, so there is still a lot of growing to do. This is a group that will develop over the next few years and will hopefully get back to playing competitve footy. The players are under no illusions this year, they know it will be tough!!

Vman will you be heading out to Raiders golf day on Sunday?

hi sf
some inspirational words about the upcoming season...
yes i will be attending the presidents golf day. i have entered a team with my son and a couple of business associates called "THE FLYING V's"
there has been plenty of banter around the boardroom, my son has been practising his putting all week around the office.
really hoping he can be our "finisher" as i am a big hitting specialist off the tee in the ambrose format.
will be getting down to mccracken extra early for the sausage sizzle and will be bringing along a few marinated shazlicks to pop on the bbq.
also really looking forward to picking optimus' brain on the 19th hole.

Anyone make it to the 20/20 and can shed some light?

Heard Lofty got beaten by Echunga by 5 points?

What happened to Hahndorf? It's a strange result to be beaten by a Div. 4 team. Did they field a really young team, were they missing some of there stars, or were Plympton just too good?

It's also a surprise to see that Mt. Lofty lost to Echunga, considering all the 'new' recruits they are meant to have. Where all of these players playing and did Echunga field a strong team?

Hahndorf played basically a kids team with something like 10 senior colts from last season on the park. Mt Barker also fielded a young team and it appeared that many of Lofty's big guns didnt play either.

Seems to be across the board, bar Echunga. Lofty only had about 5-6 A graders from last year. I think the ruckman recruit played. Apparently Echunga went out full strength and hahndorf were full of kids.
If you have trial games after this comp, this is a good chance to give the younger ones a bash.

A bit off - Echunga only has a "young team", only 2 players who played over 24. The players involved were players who have been training, A's and B's. With the 17's only just started training last week, it's not worth throwing any of them in at this stage.

Correct, Echunga is a young side anyway and many players from last years B grade played, 9 if I counted correctly.

Pretty Well Correct about Echunga's Team, There were 9 out from Last years Grand Final Team, Lofty still had Jarrod McDonnell Playing and several others so wasnt just the junior where Hahndorf seemed to be a very Junior Side.
