Encounter bay? What would you consider to be good numbers Johnny?

Good question LF, the number I heard certainly isnt good in my books.

Those in charge at Victor would be very pleased with the attendance at training so far, with numbers from the high 30's to mid 50's for the last 4 sessions (including a few colts) which is great considering the date. There is a training/team bonding "camp" scheduled for 19 Feb which I'm sure will have some hard work and plenty of fun.

Pfft. Mostly A graders? Less balls have hit the ground at a bowling alley. Hopeless.

Yes that is good.

Problem is I've heard 4 other different reports .... 14, 14, 15 maximum, and another saw them out running in two groups with about a dozen in one and 3 or 4 others in the other.

how bout you lads just worry about the season ahead rather than the amount of blokes u get on the track during Feb. its what you bring to the table during the season that counts. no use bragging about having 50-60 blokes out pre season. time will tell wen it gets a bit wet and cold and there is no1 rocking up for you. If any anyone has 50-60 blokes out on a cold july evening then im sure we will all commend you on your clubs efforts.

Of course you are right fabs, but its hard when there isnt any footy on - can only crap on about how things are shaping up. I was just handing Johny the shovel - he did his own digging. I dont see the point in talking BS.

Yanks numbers are good , a few Colts from last year will get a chance. I reckon we will be around the mark however I think come Finals time ( 4- 8 ) will be really tight.

My early prediction is for the Creeks to defeat Victor in the 'A' Grade GF by 21 points
other finalists being Compass, Willunga & Strath followed by Yank, McClaren, Myp/Sellicks, Goolwa/P.Elliot with Bays bottom.

Big call early but i'll have a go for the end of the minor round

Victor (learnt a lot last year, better for the experience)
Strath (even though they've lost a few, I respect how they go about their footy)
Creeks (Sounds like they've done some good recruiting)
Willunga (still got a lot of experience around even if a few are hanging up the boots)
Compass (Can never write them off, expecially at home)

Yank (I hope they won't drop away this much but sounds like they wont be the team of last year)
Pongy (Slowly building up again, will push some sides)
Goolwa (Same as Pongy, building and will be competitive)
Bays (Too many conflicting stories which often means issues are being covered up)
Mclaren (from what i hear big turnover of players down there which can upset things)

As i said very early, but not a lot else to talk about.

I agree with your finalists jackpot jim compass in yank out.
But i find it funny how the teams with the most posters on this forum get talked up to be better than they actually end up being. Victor and creek are always talked up every year but you never hear much about strath and willunga who have played off in the last 3 gf's. I would expect the lower teams to have more out at training cos there seasons finished a lot earlier last year = more advanced planning and recruiting to catch up on the top teams.

Looks like a particular player shopping himself around again maybe heading back to the club that took him on board after Victor told him a couple seasons back he would need to play in the magoos because of their points overload. Such a shame for the lad as whilst he has a fair opinion of himself, hes not a bad lad, just looking out for the mighty dollar on offer in and around the GSFL. Maybe he should just swallow his pride and play for the local club he comes from as a zero pointer,as i am sure he would be a regular in their team.

No need to deny it because it just simply isn't true. In fact there is still 2 points to play with. The squad is pretty much the same which i guess is what the league's want to happen with the points system. The Ellis Boys leaving and getting Kruger for 0 has left room to play with.

Dunno about that kitm, I've only been on here for 6 months and I only know of one other VH follower on here. I'm yet to be bold enough to predict how we will go in 2011, but there is nothing wrong with being positive about your prospects is there?

Go ahead, give us a report on Strath's ins/outs and how the title defence is looking! I'd love to hear about them as I'm sure would everyone else.

Sorry Johny but that sounds rather silly - which club ISNT trying to shuffle their players/points during the off-season, trying to work out who to target and whether to take players that will eat up points?

As far as I know, Victor have 5 points carried over from 2010, have 5 more points committed to date leaving 3 spare.

How's Kenny looking on the track? Claytons - the high profile recruit you get that nobody has even seen yet!

Jurek - there I said it for you. As I posted before - he got shafted and it was a dumb move which upset plenty. To quote a club official "It was a disgrace what happened 2 years ago and the club is rectifying a wrong in 2011"

I'm sure he will get some coin, but he wants to play with his mates. He has signed and has not missed a training. That is where it stands.

Is Jurek the former South junior?
If so, this kid enjoys his own company immensely and considers himself a ready made superstar.
But if he stays focussed, keeps the dummy in and concentrates on the here and now then he's capable of being that star he's always wanted to be.
