I heard Matty had moved to the hills or country or something? Not sure but I believe he's moved on. He's a very decent bloke and player. One of purest outswing actions I've seen.

Sean was naturally gifted at the send off! Some of the better ones he gave were to the PV boys. He seemed to save his best for you lot! I remember him asking Cuz if they called him Coussens because his parents are related :D Most of his stuff was harmless. I tink he just got bored so tried to spice up a contest.
You still play anywhere?

Nah mate, coach PV and the Assoc side. My free time these days is spent in my boat fishing whenever the weather permits. ;)

Good to hear from ya Kev'. We won't talk about how much S.Janetzki used to love playing TTG in GF's shall we..?? ;)

Ahhh, The Wrecker! Hey mate, how ya doin'?!? 8)

Forgot about Matty Grantham.. He followed me to Walkies a few years after I went there and is still there I think..? Top lad & a solid cricketer.

Sean mellowed a bit towards the end of the TTG era and we even had a few civil conversations.  When he first came into the comp though he was a firey little fekker. I remember spanking him around Terama one day and he eventually got me out - Copes plucked a one-hander at mid-on, and McConnell went ballistic and gave me the best send off I ever copped. Sensational stuff.

Going very well, cheers.

Matty certainly wasn't overly quick, but would bowl that nagging length all day and could certainly make the ball move

Thanks for the complement dutchy :) I must say you were the pick of the bowlers tonight with that lethal out swing of yours. Although, I was quite happy with the 2 big wickets of hoddo and jon...if only i could have done that in the game
But yeah, its a good experience for us young lads to go to a training session with the best seniors in the competition and let us know where we are at in comparison to the more experienced members.
Is the next session next Wednesday?

You bowled well mate, just remember that short balls just sit there a bit more on turf ;) that one that got me was a ripper. And you proved that smithy is human... Even if he did drag it back :p

Hopefully there are some more boys out next week.

Smasha, you sure you can't make it to practice? Would be nice to have a bit more practice against us before we play ya!

Accurate assessment of Dutchy's form Wed. night, there Harry. ;) But bear in mind mate, he does bring his own ball... I might have to check it for any blatant tampering before next week's session, coz early on he was on fire. He bowled you a solid over or so of absolute crackers there at one stage.

And well done yourself, both you an' MS. I know the lads were impressed by your competitiveness and skills. If I can turn MS into a leggie in 6wks, that might be the missing piece of the puzzle..

6-7 apologies from some very handy cricketers last night, so next week will be better. 8)

haha yea, that short ball that u hit a long way was an attempted slower ball. Tried to do a split-finger slower ball, but failed miserably  Wont be trying that again.....well to you anyway. I was all over Smithy, he had no idea :P

Oh well that explains it then. I might bring a modified ball myself next week :P
Yea pretty much my whole net session, he bowled very good areas, was definitely hard to get away. Just had to start leaving balls so that he would bowl some on the legs, wasnt to be though haha.

Yea, Matty is generally an offy, but in recent weeks he's been chucking down some leggies. So we'll so what happens there.

He certainly proved that you don't need to be super quick to be very, very effective. Took plenty of wickets for us, didn't give much away and just kept running in all day. Was a more than handy lower order bat too.

6/36 and 7/27 in the 2x GF's we played off in speaks for itself and without a doubt one of the main reasons why we won both of those matches defending moderate totals. The 2nd one at Golden Grove he tore apart your top order and if not for a quality 60-odd from Copes, would've been over a lot quicker than it was.

Also forgot about young Timmy Kriewaldt too from TGG days gone by. Had one exceptional season with the bat. Mind you, good value for shots playing half your games at Ardtornish. ;)

I was just having a chuckle to myself reminiscing about those encounters in the mid-late 90's and how fired up Crackers used to get when Tscharks came out to bat. That battered maroon helmet was like a red rag to a bull, especially after waiting 10mins to have a crack at him while he was preparing to face up. Good times..

I am rightfully informed Jarrad McLeod is again playing B Grade for Enfield on Saturday.

Jarrad McLeod 47.5 overs, 14 wickets @ 2.2 runs an over
Luke McLeod 41 overs 7 wickets @ 2.1 runs an over

Im told both of these young men(Jarrad being only 17) have said they will play A grade if selected. Both bowl with great control and can swing/cut the ball where they desire with great effect yet cant break in to A grade team that hasnt won a game. Can someone from Enfield other then myself tell me how this is so? And also post stats and reasonings regarding the continued re-selection of under-performing bowlers? Jarrad will be representing the Association Under 21's and has results to back him up yet it seems his not even being considered at all for a call up.

Congratulations to Marc Cossens who will play his 200th match this week for PV. A great effort especially when you consider he had 5 years away from the club. Cuz has held most positions at the club on and off field roles and is currently president and captain. Add in what he has done and currently does for the assoc teams he is an valuable member of our assoc.
Reading the fossils reminisce early about clubs disappearing it is largely due to Cuz’s passion and single-mindedness ( happy goat!!) that PV is in such a strong position.
A great bloke and friend he captaincy has improved in recent years since he decided to bowl me more. Well more than the last captain we had. 8)

Good luck tomorrow Cuz
