With Jonathon Griffen and Daniel Motlop requesting trades to the West, who are the players the Crows and Power supporters would be happy to pick up as compensation? Bearing in mind the WCE aren't going to trade Cox for Griffen etc.
I also find this interesting as Griffen/Motlop must believe one or both of the WA clubs are interested in them. From an outsiders view, the WCE seem to have their ruck situation pretty much sewn up with Cox and Nick Nat, and Griffen would only be of value if Cox did decide to leave. Freo also have big Sandi and prefer to use a taller utility in the role of a back-up ruckman (eg Kepler Bradley), so I can't see him being of much use at Freo either.
And with Motlop, the WCE have Mark LeCras as their small forward, whereas Freo use Hayden Ballantyne in that role. With the two players listed, obviously Freo woiuld look at him more closely, but he is an injury/poor attitude risk and would come with a hefty price tag. Not sure they would see the value.
Would the Crows/Power look to lure former South Australians home as part of a trade. Maybe a Shannon Hurn or Brad Ebert? I would suggest Beau Waters but from all reports he is very happy out in the West. Would someone like Quentin Lynch, who is obviously out of favour be of any value to the SA teams? Maybe the Power to bolster a massive void at CHF?
Some suggestions:
Daniel Motlop = Quentin Lynch + a draft pick
Jonathon Griffen + draft pick = Brad Ebert
Thoughts?
