RTG I have been reading these forums for the whole year I was a past player to some clubs in this division. Im just intrigued as to why a Div 6 team member as yourself is interested in what Div 7 clubs are getting up to. I know your able to voice you own opinion that's why I decided to speak up. Anyway thanks SOBCU this thread seems to be alot about Mawsons and Units but it's great how close this competition actually is. Seems like the final 3 rounds all clubs have a spot to play for expecially a home final.

As for the medal favourites it's saddened me that possibly Rob O Gorman from the Saints could possibly be out for the year. Surely that won't do his votes any good. I still think Lachie Kennett from the Saints will take it out. He has been around the mark for years. But we all know in past years that the votes and results can swing any way I mean look at last years medal winner. Its GAME on with only 3 weeks to go it's anyone's guess as to how the final 5 will be made up.

I'm am also a past player from a club in this division and have mates that play and also like to see what going on out of interest because of rivalry. And as for previous comments that were deleted they obviously came from uninformed people with an eat for grapevine rumours that have no substance.

Five happy travellers
Mawson v blacks - Interesting writeup in Talking Amatuers
Talking Amatuers - Round 16 footy budget wrote:....many factors can be attributed to the rise and fall of the ‘Saints’ injury, discipline, umpiring decisions (or non decisions) and good old fashioned luck, lets be honest the ‘Saints’ have only put in a whole 4 quarters of football together once and that was against Adelaide University in Round 7, every other win was off either the boot of Novosel or 1 great quarter of football by the team.....

Flinders v units
Angle Vale v TTG
Raggies v Glenunga
Modbury v SHOCS
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

I wouldn't be too concerned mate, he who laughs last, laughs loudest. Units have shown over the past 9 weeks they are a real danger and i would anticipate Lakes to snap this form slump soon. I would still be confident these two sides will be a force come finals time.

As for not talking about other clubs, well i think probably because they don't have many members on the forums, people wont get much of a reaction out of bagging some of these clubs, where would be the fun in that? :P

yeah i must say it is good to be sitting where we are and playing good footy should be some fun come finals time.. i have no dought at all that mawsons will be there come finals time.. they are a good side well drilled.. the riddler will get them back on track for a finals campain

With all do respect Sobco.... I will go out on a limb here and be the first to suggest that Mawsons are 1. a very poor side at the moment (worst time of year for that to happen) and 2. will not make finals. Mawsons are likely to lose against Uni and to SHOC. I mean no disrespect. However this is a forum for talking div 7 footy. The hot topic at the moment seems to be Mawson Lakes as it has been all year.

On the second hot topic at the moment of Central United. I cant see them losing another game. SHOC may be a threat but cant see them breaking the momentum that CU has gained.

3rd topic, Flinders Uni looked to have played a good game against Modbury last week. Perhaps even Flinders could get up on Mawsons??

Mr RWB
Thanks for the feed back you have proven my point about CU, can talk without using foul language and always happy to personally attack people!!!!

As far as finals footy goes top 5 anyones guess but with resent form you would think that Mawson's season is over, should look at next year sorry boys. Uni good running side, soft as butter! Glenunga can they play 4qts on a big oval instead of the primary school oval we'll see. CU playing away from home not so easy time will tell, TTG they will be the side to watch in the finals, Shoc could be a surprise package
The team that i'm sure the top 5 are glad that wont be there come finals is Athelstone from what i can see have loss 5 games by under 5pts some would say just unlucky.

D grade have top 2 sorted, the next 3 spots are up for grabs, i think this will also come down to the last game of the season Mawson vs Shoc & Athelstone vs TTG to make up the top 5.

Good work (s) aintbackline
This is a run down on your wins on big grounds round 3 moffin res CU didn't have best start to year mid to second half much better for them. Rd 5 Flinders Uni Can't win a game, Rd 11 Ade uni top 5 (well Down) Rd 13 Modbury 2nd to bottom and rd 15 Mawson lakes theb oval. However i think Mawson have won 1 or 2 in there last 8. Only 1 good win on a big oval, so as I said lets see what happens in finals when they play a top 5 side on a big ground!!!!

i think that even tho the units would be favourites at the moment with their form and easy run home, and now glenunga are also playing more upto what everyone thought they could, for me the big danger will be shoc if they make it.i base that not only on some good form but the fact that i think their Bgrade are finals bound without a defeat i believe which would mean a great pool of players to pick from come finals time

That doesnt make any sense! If SHOCS B grade are finals bound then their C grade will not be getting any players filter down!! not only that, any fringe players would have to have played 5 C grade games to qualify!

Depends on what happens with their A Grade. If the A's don't make it to finals there would be three or four currently playing A's who'll probably qualify for B Grade finals, which would then force three or four down into the C Grade.

True...I also dare say if it comes down to that last game of us v SHOC for a finals spot fair chance there could be a couple sent back down for that game :(

Surely not ;)

Win the next two and you might not need to beat them in R18.

There are other SAAFL teams sitting sixth with a tougher run home, so it could be worse 8-[

So let me ask the professionals this.

If your team is in a position where it is mathematically impossible to make the finals. Do you play some of the younger fellas who have missed out on a regular spot & experiment a little with positions or do you still try and go all out and try and get another win?

I'd play some the young kids and try a few things, who knows you may jag a win.

Mawson Lakes v Adelaide University
Flinders University v Central United
Angle Vale v Tea Tree Gully
Athelstone v Glenunga
Modbury v Sacred Heart
