Random weird problem-help appreciated

Some sites aren't working for me today, it comes up with the 'page cannot be displayed' error message. I have just worked out there seems to be a common theme with what sites aren't working and that theme is the word boards. No proboards or freepowerboards sites are working. I have a forum on each so it's frustrating. msn is working fine, hotmail is working fine, safooty is working fine, other sites are working fine but not proboards or freepowerboards forums. Not even the support sites of both of them. Just did a System Restore and put my pc back to how it was yesterday in case anything had happened but that hasn't worked, still the same.


Anyone know why this could be happening? Has my pc blocked sites with the word boards or something?

Any help or advice or anything greatly appreciated.

Nah, I'm with dodo. However in that thread you mention google, I can't access google(also only since this morning) unless I type googel.com as opposed to google.

I had occasional hold ups with some sites using Internode during yesterday - Google particularly - but if a tried again after a minute or so it was OK.

Telstra's business strategy is to let all the copper line rot in the ground, then put in fibre to the home if they can pressure the government to let them have exclusive use of it - effectively forcing all other ISPs out of business. Even those with their own DSLANs depend on the copper line Telstra controls. The present federal government is clear they will not let Telstra create a monopoly this way, but they are hoping a Labor federal government will give in to its friends the Packers and Murdochs, who own a lot of Telstra and Foxtel. That's why they are working on gaining exclusive control of the AFL too.

The Plan B alternative is to try to force us all on to even more expensive wireless internet plans when the copper finally collapses under the weight of poor maintenance.

Dodo are $hite!! Was with them for a few years until a few weeks ago, got pi$$ed off trying to contact them when I had internet connection problems. With prepaid optusnet now and have had no problems.

As much as I agree, Telstra do have one small point in that why should they pay for and install a new network that every other company gets to use.

Mainly because they got off to a huge head start by taking with them into the private domain an infrastructure built with public money when they were a public utility, and from which they still make huge profits. Personally, I still think the infrastructure should have been retained as a public trust and only the services section of Telstra privatised to compete on equal footing with the other players. If they get a monopoly established as the sole source of genuine high speed broadband they will double the monthly fee to bleed us all dry and start demanding the football leagues pay them to broadcast the games. The Packers and Murdochs own too much of Telstra/Foxtel for anything else to happen.
