GWW wrote:I have Foxtel and am looking into utilising the FOXTEL GO app - I have Wireless through Iprimus, and a pocket wifi through Optus.

Does anyone know - would either of the above work with Foxtel GO...and if so, would the data come out of the monthly allowance, or would there be an extra cost on top of the monthly account ISP account?

i steal my brother's foxtel go account

(not really steal, but i use his login)

at the highest quality it uses about 1 GB an hour. it chews a LOT of data.

so you would want to have a big data cap to use it.

i have wimax with adam internet and during peak hours it isnt quite good enough to keep up a lot of the time, which is frustrating. but if you have a really stable fast connection it is very good

We moved about a month ago, and now we have Adam Naked DSL.

Its pretty much useless. It drops in and out. The wifi wont even stay connected to our phones. We're only about 1-2 kms from the Semaphore exchange.

Im on hold with them right now trying to sort it out. Its the 3rd call ive made about this now.

Edit - This guy was actually really helpful and he's conceded its probably their problem and will get someone to fix it.

What has wifi signal strength got to do with Adam naked DSL? (Besides the router)

I have had Adam naked DSl for years and don't have issues, mind you I used my own router.

Pardon? The internet drops out and is also so weak, that the wifi will not even register with any form of electronic device.

They can apparently see records of every time our internet drops out....and its quite a lot apparently.

Yeah the guy said we should be getting way better speeds and it shouldn't drop out.

What area, roughly, are you in?

WiFi connectivity is a completely different issue to connectivity between the router and the exchange ie You should be able to connect to the router's wifi regardless of whether the router is connected to the exchange....not that is is of any benefit without internet

This. Saying your wifi doesn't work and saying your adsl does not work are toe different things.

Sorry, the wifi connects, but the internet drops out, so it says "unstable connection" all the time.

I can see what you guys mean now that I re-read what I wrote. Everything connects up like it should, but the internets so shit that when i try to use it, nothing happens.

Still not sure you are using the correct terminology mate, sorry if I'm wrong.

Adsl - from exchange to your house.

Router - receives adsl signal and "routes" it to different devices in your house.

This can either be done with wires, through Ethernet, or wirelessly through wifi.

The connection of your router to Adam and your router to your device are independent and should not be related.

It gets terribly confusing when people conflate the two or treat it all as one connection.

Sorry if I am telling you what you already know.

Is your connection still unstable if you plug a device into the router using Ethernet?

Yes its still shit. The internet drops out. That is the problem. The guy at Adam can see every dropout on his computer and he says it should definitely not be doing that.

The router to the phone/latpop/desktop/ps4 stays connected via wifi/ethernet cable. The problem is there is no internet services coming through it from the exchange to my house.

Exchange -x- router ->- devices.

x - where the problem is.

Change the "x" to a ">" and problem fixed

Ok. So not a problem with wifi then.

That's good, in that they should be able to fix it for you.

Myself and a friend had the same issues with Adam, after both being fed up switched to big pond and never had a problem since.
