I'm no expert but a laptop of mine did this a few years ago and I pulled it to bits (partially) and found fluff had blocked the filter screen. I cleaned it and it was okay. But really, these things have an effective life of three or four years max before software outgrows the hardware capabilities.
My first laptop cost five grand now they are $800.

Normally the problem is dust which holds heat around the fan cause it to run constantly. Our techs take the cover off and blow it away with a can of compressed air (available at Dick Smiths etc).

Well check for a filter blockage. The fan is essential because the boards and diodes etc run hot and need cooling or they will malfunction

also check where the air out let is my bro had one a couple of years ago and it was directly on the bottom, you basically couldn't put it down on anything as it would heat up due to no air flow.

No, not normal, its overheating.

Try topping up with a good quality coolant.

it's on the side. I took some bits off, gave it a bit of a blow & she seems ok now.

I made the mistake of cleaning all the dust out of my original PCs fan, as soon as I turned it back on it started smoking and blew up! The dust had been holding it together!

After buying a new laptop, I went to someone I can trust,

pcplus@blairathol.

They installed MSOffice Pro for a good price,

then showed me a plate that my laptop can sit on that has duel fans (to extract any heat) {powered by usb} and also has a built in USB hub.

$30. Chech it out guys. :D ;)
