Running Vista with New Trend internet Security.

Uninstalled Trend after Black Screening..

Done a Startup Repair and chkdsk.

Up and running but no WiFi.....??

Restore does nothing.

Tried all netfixes. No luck.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520?

No Vista Disk. Who has one of those...?

Any Advice before it becomes an artificial reef off Grange...

Still a good laptop. I watch movies that I download to USB on it.

This is a longshot but worth a try;

Go to start, all programs, accessories and right click on command prompt select "run as Administrator". At the prompt type:-

net localgroup Administrators /add networkservice
press enter then type:
net localgroup Administrators /add localservice
press enter then type:
exit
press enter and restart your computer

arent you the one that preaches replace not repair? it has a problem, must be time to get a new one.............

If there is a quick & easy fix, lets hear it. Otherwise the Great Lappy is an artificial reef somewhere.

I exceeded that limit after day 1 Giant....

All the kids swarm around me when I log onto a library computer....

And when I play my flute, they all follow me home......

It was a fab laptop while it lasted. Sad to see it gone. But moving on.

my brother had toshiba a few years ago. Worse laptop ever designed. the idiots put the fan at the bottom so when ever you sat it down on something it would heat up and shutdown. Hopefully they have changed the design by then

My ASUS Core2Duo Laptop bought in 2004 is still alive and well, but will no longer cope with the demands of the specialist medical software I use. I've kept it for now, but just bought another ASUS - a K55V i7, 2GB video, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, W8 Pro.
