505 Games/Trickstar Ashes Cricket 2013:

Big Ant's new game:

Big Ant's other cricket game:

Personally, I'm looking forward to Big Ant's game (not the tabletop one).
Hopefully they can get all the licensing, venues etc.

The last decent cricket game with the licensing was Cricket 2007, I'm hoping the Big Ant game, not the tabletop one, is decent.

How's the screenshots from the tabletop game? The graphics are comical! Obviously that game is aimed at the non die-hard cricket fans

Yeah I think that one's aimed more at kids.
Cricket 2007 was great for gameplay too. The only one to use the control sticks only to bat.
I always liked 2005 though, because it had state and county cricket too.

That was the 2009 version.
Okay, but had some terrible flaws like that one.

Ahk, fair enough. I wouldn't buy it.

I thought using the control sticks when batting was a great idea they came up with.

Cricket 2005 was good because it had state/county teams but the grahics were horrible, every player was tall and skinny!. Cricket 2002 on PC is still my favourite, I always played as All time West Indies.

I loved Cricket 2002 on the PS2.
Used to get a bunch of mates together and smash out a World Cup.
I was always West Indies too!

Big Ant launched their Cricket Academy Beta this week.
It's the player creator program available for download on PC.

Doesn't look too bad, except all the created players come out with tiny eyes like Howard Moon.

This is from Ross, the CEO of Big Ant (same mob who made AFL Live):

Originally our career mode was to be team/player management based however after a lot of trial and error, and feedback from focus groups, we decided that the career mode needed to be player centric as the team model just wasn’t enough fun for the majority of those who played it. So it's a bit more like "be a pro".

So... here's the bullet points from the game in a raw form:

* You play as One Player - Name Him and Alter his Appearance, give him a nationality and set attributes

* You give your player a Role - batter, bowler, batting all rounder, bowling all rounder

* You start as a 16 year old and go for 20 years

* You are offered Contracts each year with performance related bonuses

* There are 5 Ranks that you must climb - ultimately playing for your International Team

* Skills are increased by playing the game well, or decreased by playing badly, as your skill level increases so will your rank, your rank can also decrease as well.

* Match Types and Lengths of matches increase as your rank increases - with Test Matches only happening in Rank 5

* The game will simulate up until your participation point in any given match, you will also be able to drop in and field as yourself if you wish, or continue to simulate at any time.

* Money you earn is used as a High Score on an Online Leaderboard

* There is also a unique First Person View (as well as 3rd person), we have even integrated Oculus with the PC version and it was awesome, it felt like you were there!!

Agreed. Whether it actually is though is another matter.
But, love the fact there's a 'be a pro' style in the game.

New cricket game has been revealed as Don Bradman Cricket 14.
Must be good to get the Bradman Foundation tick of approval.

Cricket 2007?

That game was awesome. I tried to download it for PC, but I dont know how to "mount" them to install it.
