Prepackaged laptop software

Had a few issues and returned my laptop back to it's factory state. There are a lot of crap that came with the laptop that I've never used in the 18 months that I've had it, and a lot I have no idea what they are, such as ASUS AP Bank, ASUS CopyProtect, ASUS Data Security Manager, Smart Logon Manager, Splendid Utility and Syncables desktop SE. Are these safe to remove without effecting the working of the laptop? Is there a way of telling if something can be removed safely without trial and error?
