Static interference

Postby smac » Mon Feb 07, 2011 5:09 pm

I have an amp in the lounge for surround sound, working just fine, and a set of two speakers off the amp running out to the patio (the amp has a switch that allows for this, no 'custom' set up). This also has been working fine.

On the weekend I wanted to have the kids watching the TV (using the TV speakers only, not surround sound) while I sat outside listening to the cricket. Once the TV was turned on, this created a huge amount of intereference in the amp rendering it useless for outside listening.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get over this issue?

Are you using insulated cables?

There's plastic on the outside of the speaker cables, is that insulation?

Yes, I know little of what I speak about.

Get rid of the kids then you won't have to put the tv on at the same time...simples ;)

My AWA cassette/Cd/Radio sits beside my Cannon Printer.

When both are switched on, at the same time, Same.

Easy for me.

I just switch one off after use.

Both units purchased before this new digital world.

Somethings just interfere with another.

Have not tried to remedy the situation as the cost would be more than the AWA machine. ;)
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...
