Search for torrents (or if you feel really techy - usenet / newsgroups)

Music - torrent or emule
Music vids - I tried everywhere but worked out that Youtube has got the best and most easily accessible vids. So I downloaded a youtube downloader and use that to download music vids
TV shows/movies - torrents.

I found MP3 Rocket to be a good download site for music...pay a one off fee ($30 from memory) and you get continued updates. Have hardly had any issues with viruses either - the one that did come through was immediately picked up by the scanner.

Fine Dutchy. It downloads them as an .flv which I then convert to .avi when required (for burning and playing on the TV at home/parties).

I'm download media very rarely (not much into movies or tv and prefer the superior sound quality of CDs), but how do you get around opening up your computer to viruses and other malware when dowloading torrents?

My mate uses bit torrent and has downloaded some great quality videos & music.
I was heavily into this about 4-5 years ago, when the local TV couldn't keep up with The Sopranos.
But I use Frostwire to download my music. It is virtually the exact same as Limewire.

first time i used vuze ended up costing me $200 to fix the viruses.
I use uTorrent.
Then i go to piratebay and download songs through the torrent MP.

I read all the comments before I download anything. If it looks dodgy I don't download it. Seems to work. I might check out uTorrent. I get all my tv shows from
www.eztv.it

I'm reluctant to comment since I haven't played International cricket but here goes ...
Peer-to-peer = drop your pants and wait for the viruses, trojans, etc to infect your system
So if you want to go ahead, be prepared for these and protect yourself accordingly.
I disallow peer-to-peer on my home network ... I don't need pirated movies and music
that much!

been p2p for years and aslong as you use a reliable source, read the comments and download from a trusted source (i use piratebay.org and always look for someone with a green, pink or blue skull) you will have no problems. i have never un wittingly downloaded a virus, trojan or herpes...

In case anyone is wondering, I tried a few different ones, and Pirate Bay is a very useful tool!
