Ok, I tried google but my question/s didn't even make sense to me.

Hoping one of you fine folk at safooty can help me here please.

Firstly, I have 4 DVD/VCR combos so I'll mention them first as 1, 2, 3 and 4 so it's easier to understand which one I'm talking about later on.

DVD/VCR 1 - PANASONIC - the DVD is a DVD recorder, only bought last week.
DVD/VCR 2 - PANASONIC - the DVD is a DVD recorder (exact same as above in fact), a few months old.
DVD/VCR 3 - SAMSUNG - the DVD is not a recorder, couple of years old.
DVD/VCR 4 - LG - the DVD is not a recorder, a few years old.

ok now the situation, I have thousands of VCR tapes (mostly footy and movies) I am putting onto DVDs, now the ones I record onto machine number 1 above have no sound when I play them back on DVD/VCR 2 (exact same model) but recorded on number 2 have no problems when played back on number 1. Both have no problems when played back on machines 3 or 4. Have 2 models the same so I can have both machines running while I'm at work and even overnight so to get through all the tapes in half the time basically.

So what is recorded on machine 1 is fine picture wise on machine 2 but there is no sound. Do I need to change some setting or something on machine 2?

Any help greatly appreciated. :)

the only way is to set them up side by side and go through every single setting to make sure they are the same

Might be easier to grab a vcr capture device and burn them to DVD via the PC.
