Not Happy Adam

So the story goes... on the 24th June we finally decided to go ADSL2+ and after searching around for the best deal (for what we used) we found a 14GB (7on,7off) for $39.95 a month. We didn’t want any more data because we just knew we wouldn’t use it. Anyway we went through the motions of signing up through the Adam website and that was all fine. Signed up for 24 month got a free modem etc etc.
By Thursday the 1st of July we hadn’t heard a thing from them. It said on the website that your connection should be working within 5-10 working days and as the order progresses you would receive SMS messages. So I gave them a call, after waiting on the phone for a good twenty minutes, I finally got through to an Indian (not meaning to be racist). He was a little difficult to understand though. I explained I hadn’t heard a thing after 6-7 days and he explained to me that the 5-10 working days begun from when the payment was received and because we were paying by direct debit that could take up to 4 days plus the weekend (don’t the computers in the banks work weekends either?). After feeling quite mislead I hung up the phone. Out of interest I check my bank online and was not surprised to the fact the money had come out of my account on the 24th.
So came around yesterday at 9:30am, our monitored alarm service started beeping because the phone line had been disconnected. I thought finally something happening at their end. Well i thought so anyway. The hours went by 10, 11, 12, 1 and we still had no dial tone. I emailed the adam help desk explaining the situation and received a auto reply message. "Your email has been placed in a queue" etc etc
So after waking up this morning will still have no dial tone. 12 hours gone and it is obvious someone has f*cked up and to tell you the truth I'm not happy about it. I rang our home number and much to my delight a girl by the name of Julia picked up. I explained to her what had happened here and she told me that when she rang her husband yesterday that he did ask where she was ringing from(because she had our number). She didn’t twig at the time obviously.
So I rang Adam who bumped me to Optus, who have (I think) bumped it to a Telstra technician. God knows how long it will take to be fixed, but I don’t have a telephone line and I'm not happy at all about the service from Adam to date (I know its not Adams fault in the exchange but still).
Oh and by the way still waiting for our modem after almost 3 weeks of waiting, but hey it’s not like I need it at the moment anyway…

That's absolute bullshit!
Keep on their back everyday until it's fixed mate. They'll eventually get sick of you.

Very surprised. Never had a issue with Adam, and the people that I've referred to them never have either. Their call centre is in Adelaide too, so you've got an Australian Indian

Copy and paste your issue on
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/109. The boffins high up in Internode and Adam read that forum (so I'm told) and don't stand for stuff like that - because you're bringing their name into disrepute and hence it's in their best interests to get it fixed pronto (which also looks good from a resolution perspective on their front).
Alternately, if they don't people will know how to escalate it and get it resolved quickly.
Also, no, the banks systems' don't work on weekends nor public holidays.

Adam were a disgrace when I had to deal with them. Customer service was Telstra-esque.
But given they helped out the Magpies, I bit the bullet, stayed with them and will gloss over my dramas and say - definitely go with Adam

dont get me started with telstra! i waited 5 weeks for them to hook up my phone line, after being told on 3 seperate occasions it wouldnt take more than 48 hours.
as for adam, i'm one of the referalls sjabc is talking about, and i've never had a problem with them. in fact, they've been awesome!

I wasn't happy with Telstra nor Optus, so went nekked. No phone line to worry about, no rental for no good reason, $10 of free calls through internode, all good (now).

I had the opposite problem with Telstra - one of their inbound consultants fraudulently set up a phone/internet connection. Thankfully when I called, the consultant was horrified at what happened and the bill was wiped.

oh yeah, and i forgot to mention that they still had the balls to charge me $300 for the setup. i called them, told them i wasnt paying it. i pay the $30 per month line rental, but just dont pay the $300. every bill i've got has been for $329.99. so i pay the $30 every month.
looking at it like this, i guess every bill i'm paying, i'm actually paying 1c off the $300 bit. why arent they taking that off the overall sum?

Recomended a mate to Adam.
Took 5 days and still no wireless thingy.
5 days of complaints and they finally couriered the thingy out to him....
They need to look at training employees better.
Got the recomendation for Adam through this site....

Everyone who is happy with a service generally stay quiet.
The few people who have bad experiences ofter air out their displeasure.
Go onto
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/ and see how many complaints there are about TPG, iPrimus, Optus and Telstra compared to Adam and Internode.

I shelved my Telstra internet over 6 months ago, & found I had paid a bill that was already paid- I was in credit.
I asked them to transfer that to my phone account, they said no problem, but it will take 3 months. (???)
6 months on, I still have a credit on an account I don't use anymore...

Last month I just snuck under my Internode cap with 34gb downloaded (35gb cap), but my uploads were 36gb, if I'd been with Telstra I would have ben done for 70gb since they count uploads.
