I'm thinking about getting back into it again, much to the missus' chagrin!
Just don't wanna fork out the cash for the game itself.
I don't mind paying the monthly fee, but can I just use someone else's disc to install it?

You can download it.

I don't like the idea of the monthly fee.

Take the glasses off and add some hair and it's me!

You do have to pay for the game and get an individual license to play it. It's acty dearer (and a huge downloAd) if you download it so I wouldn't recommend it.

You can get a 30 day free trial and you can also get a friend to refer you (preferably me so I can get a new mount) which also helps you level quicker.

The real fun if the game is actually the end game content at level 80.

Later this year there's a new expansion pack which sounds awesome!

I've used 2 free 30 days trials and never paid for the game.

It's completely downloadable.

The trials don't include the expansion packs, you cannot download the entire game unless you pay for a license.
And you'd need the time and cap to download about 30gb and it costs more to download the entire game than it does to buy it on discs.

Trials are great for kicking off the game but if you want a level 80 character at which point the game is at it's most enjoyment then starting new trials would be a complete waste if time.

Damn boring game if you're just going to play it for a few levels and start again.

I can't justify paying a monthly fee for a single game that I'd play maybe once or twice a week. Granted it's a huge game.

My first free 30 day sub was like 10 months ago, I used the 2nd once 2 months ago.

Same reason I cancelled XBOX Live.

I like the game, just don't like the exorbitant costs you have to pay to actually play it.

Yeah I can justify $4 per week. I dont think that's exorbitant, it's not even pocket change for me.
The $30+ per week I pay for Foxtel on the other hand.......

I only played WoW once for about five minutes. My friend wouldn't let me play any longer because I didn't take it as seriously as she does. I tried to kill the griffin or goat or whatever my character was riding on, and said a lot of inappropriate things to all her WoW friends who were online at the time. I figure that I've got RPGs coming out my eyeballs with all the different consoles we've got around the house, so there's no need for me to pay to play one.
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.

Bwahaha. Well I was on until late last night and had to drag myself away.
Will be interesting to see how the missus reacts to my newfound hobby!
