Question about Digital Set Top Box

I've got a dumb arsed question but do ya need access to an outside antenna to have a digital set top box on an old teev. indoor antenna currently in use

I use an outdoor just for better reception.

But you can use an indoor if you get a good enough signal.

No you don't. Just find a digital TV antenna. I'm using the $35.00 Crest LS2000 indoor TV antenna from Big W and that works great providing you have the antenna mounted above the TV on a bookshelf or the TV cabinet itself.

we are still using the old old old indoor 1, u know the 1 that is long ways with the antenna part that spirals along it.... works well, as do the rabbit ears with the Digital LCD in the bedroom.

It really depends where you live and on the strength of the local signal.
Up here in the hills, on the wrong side of one as well, I'm having some problems even with an outside antenna.
The weather makes some difference, too.
