A company called Big Ant are making the game.

I don't care if it's a crap game. Anything AFL is good I reckon.

Time to get excited lads, their website has been updated.

www.bigant.com

AFL!
We know it's been a long time between updates but expect news on the upcoming game for the Xbox360, Playstation3, and PC here soon!

Mark 'soon' down in your diaries.

I have to laugh at the AFL logo under 'Recent Releases'.

the fact that they're saying there is news coming soon, is a good thing!

Can it really be considered an update though when they say there is no news, but news is coming? it is like being on hold on the phone when the recorded voice says "your call is important to us, please stay on the line...."

they will probably try to coincide it with finals time? right when interest in the game is arguably at its highest??

i assume you say "arguably" because in finals, only half the league is still playing?

if i was them, i'd probably concede it's not going to be a 2010 based game, and hold it off till a couple weeks before roud 1 next year. that's when i'd say the interest is at it's peak.

spot on, that is what i meant. it was just a theory on my part anyway, i havent been following it as closely as you guys. i just thought that quite often people have grand final paties etc even though their team isnt playing (or at least me and my mates do!) and it could be a good time to cross promote things, also with a nice lead in to christmas.

But i also agree that leading into next season would be a great time too. at that time of year every team is fitter, faster, stronger etc than ever before and interest is definately high.

aside from my ramblings though i will definately give it a look when it does hit the shelves.

i hate the idea of releasing it at finals time

you only play with it for 6 months with current players, then theres trades, drafts etc and all the teams lineups change

wait till the teams are finalised and bring it out in April

i do hope they be smart about it and wait till April next year to bring it out, even know that will mean we might have to wait an extra 6 months for it to hit the shelves.
