Hey guys,

Just wondered if anyone as a record turntable that converts vinyl records and uploads them on you iPod.

I have researched a few brands and all have the pro's and con's.

Would like something reasonable simple to convert my old records to my iPod.

Does anyone have one that they think is pretty good to use and that they can recommend???

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.... ;)

A couple of months ago I picked up a turntable which could record to MP3 file from Target for 99 bucks. Don't remember what brand it is and cannot be arsed walking to the other end of the house to find out. It's a fairly nasty turntable but then much of my old vinyl is also pretty nasty. It does the job.

I have never tried plugging my MP3 player directly into the turntable; in fact I think the instructions caution against this. I record onto a flash USB drive. I then plug this into the computer and do a bit of simple filtering to get rid of vinyl noise and/or trim the intro & outro. The results are satisfactory, not brilliant, but again my old vinyl ain't in the best nick to start with.

Thanks Pseudo for your reply.

Yeah, went to Dick Smiths yesterday and had a look. Like the look of the IKON turntables which has you iPod dock attached to the turntable. About $348 in price.

Think I like your flash drive idea though. Upload from that.

Thanks for the link to the related topic....that helped me alot.

Cheers mate ;)
