Acer Aspire One netbook problems

Postby HH3 » Fri Dec 11, 2009 5:35 pm

I bought an Acer Aspire One netbook and as soon as the warranty ran out, it packed up and wont do anything at all. I charge it overnight, push the power button and this is what happens.

- power light lights up
- can faintly hear the fan start

thats it...no screen at all...no loading lights.

ive had a friend of mine that knows a fair bit about computers look at it and he reckons the RAMs in a sealed thing, so he cant get to it to see if thats the problem.

i know SFA about the technical side of computers. just wondering if anyone has had this problem, or knows how i can fix it?

Good Luck!
I suspect they share the "Obsolescence Chip" technology with HP. ;)
I've had 3 HP printers die very soon after the warranty expired, and don't touch them any more. :x

I've had an Acer Aspire since 2003. Its travelled with me all over the world, generally stuffed tight in a backpack and getting a beating.

Despite the battery being useless, it still works a treat.

Same thing happened with my laptop, a Dell, and when going through the diagnostics they indicated that the motherboard was knackered. But it then got accidentally knocked off a table a week later. ;)
