A dud download has put a virus into my computer, first time I've ever had this problem. Thought I got it out of my system but it quickly came back. It's crashing most of my programs and doing all sorts of other crap. I have AVG, used Adaware, Spybot and Malwarebyte Anti-Malware but it's on there. Any ideas? Do I need to take into an IT place?

It may be reinstalling itself from System Restore if that is on - or from another hard drive if you have more then one.
I had one that did that, and I had to turn off System Restore to get rid of it.
AVG is not bad, but none of the antivirus products are 100% effective.
If it persists you may want to try uninstalling AVG and running Avira or Comodo Antivirus, or download a trial of Kaspersky.
[You may need to do the download on another computer and use a USB drive to transfer it.]
For other Malware, A-squared may be useful, or the EMCO Malware Destroyer. [www.emco.is]
One of them may identify the Malware even if they can't remove it and you can then search for a specific solution on the web.
PS: Tonight the latest upgrade of A-squared reported the latest update of the EMCO product as "medium risk" spyware.
It does contain a reporting module that is supposed to be for submitting uncertain files, but who knows...
I decided I could do without the EMCO one, as it did earlier try to continue submitting when I told it not to.

Thanks for that, I think Avira has fixed the problem.
