I have been trying unsucessfully to set up my laptop to get onto WiFi. Is there any places around Oaklands Pk/Glenelg area that can set it up for me or can anyone out there tell me in laymen terms how to do it myself. I will be able to get free WiFi soon when I commence my new employment at Olympic Dam so I want to be able to bring along my laptop to have something to do on lonely nights (eg surf porn :D ).
FWIW my laptop has built in wireless 802.11a/b/g+BT if those codes make any sense!! I have no idea as still run dial up at home.

Probably a different issue but some advice others may find handy at time as I know I would have.
I recently changed over to a new router as the old one gave up the ghost, couldn't get my wi-fi lap top working with it.
Rang up internode who were very helpful and helped turn the "wireless" part of the modem on with a few tweaks on the routers web page but no matter what they directed or I tried we couldn't get my laptop to pick it up although it picked up the old router fine.
The tech suggested it may be because its a fairly old laptop and I may need some new drivers as certain drop down boxes weren't appearing in the settings that should.
I downloaded every driver under the sun, still no go.
Went back into the router settings, went to the wireless config and as a last resort thought I'd change the channel number in the settings, it was set to 6 when I got it and when the tech was on the phone we changed it to 1, he said it would be one of those 2 channels.
Anyway, as luck would have it, I changed it to channel "2" and voila suddenly my laptop picked up the wi-fi! :D
