For some reason I still use it by default but I'm with you smac - I find Firefox does not work with lots of sites in the way it handles images and multimedia in particular. Firefox is very overrated and buggy IMHO and don't really get why anyone would think the latest IE is 'evil'?
The "evil" bit is a joke, referring to techie sites referring to Microsoft in general in similar terms. "Evil Empire" has been borrowed.
I thought most here would be aware of that, and of the assertions on those sites that IE even IE7 is still a very insecure browser, vulnerable to spyware incursions. Opera tends to be the least vulnerable browser and Firefox a little more at risk. The problem is that many websites use proprietary scripting which is Microsoft and IE orientated, and browsers need to emulate IE more closely to work with those sites.
In that case it is the site that is buggy, not the browser.Of course both sides of this debate accuse the other of lying or distorting the facts - it is a form of politics I guess!
