Insurance policies

Something that might apply to you some of you guys was raised on a show here last week called The Gadget Show. They brought up the subject of insurance for things like computers, mp3 players etc and pointed out that whilst the hardware is probably covered on a home insurance policy, the things you store on them probably aren't.

Most insurance companies would pay out for your cd's, dvd's or compensate for damaged photo albums but if they are stored on a computer then apparently a lot of policies don't cover them at all and with downloads being so popular this could run into thousands of pounds worth of music or movies etc. Might be worth checking your policy for those who have paid for their downloads.

Yes that seems to be fairly common. Some home policies specify they don't cover Laptops in the home at all either. You really have to read the fine print.

When I had a house on a lakefront I could only find one company that did not exclude cover for flood damage, as distinct from storm damage.

Been robbed of all electronic things in the house before.

My insurance company rubber stamped everything.

Everything was replaced with the latest technology of the time.

I pay a little extra, But I will never leave my insurance company.

My car is insured with the same company.

It is a little more expensive than most.

They looked after me when I needed them most.

Thankyou for good insurance companies..!!

I'm fairly happy with my company too, at present, but you do need to shop around before you sign up, and review from time to time in case subtle modifications creep in.
