I have a website that is currently hosted on free webspace by Chariot. I want to dump Chariot as they are not much good, however I wish to move the website (domain is registered to me) to another host so I can dump Chariot. I never done this before, can someone give me a step by step process of how this is done? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would suggest you find the new host and get them to either do it for you or step you through it.

Yeah, its pretty easy Mick, the hardest part is getting the url moved.
Moving the webpages is just as easy as downloading them to your PC and uploading them to the new site.
If you do that, you can set up a page which redirects people to the new addy until its been moved across.
I agree with smac, talk to the people who own the new webspace, most companies are pretty good, Ive actually had one move SAFooty for me once and that's a bit more work than your average website with databases involved.
