Maxthon internet browser

Anyone using it ? I just stumbled across it and i'm not sure if it's worth while trying. Thought's anyone?

It appears to be having a few teething problems. I couldn't work out from the web site whether it is wholly independent or a skin over the IE engine. This early in development reference suggests maybe the latter "Maxthon (MyIE2) 1.0.0168 beta".

One post on the forum suggests a connection with Favicons. I experimented with Favicons a year or so ago and it did install spyware into IE, and was a real b..... to get rid of, so I would be cautious.

Looks like it's based in China so you might also need to consider the possibility of losing access given the habit that the authorities over there have apparently had in the past of shutting down media and internet outlets.
