Word cannot complete save due to a file permission error

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before when trying to save a file in Microsoft Word 2000. Never had any trouble before with it, but now its not letting me save any .doc files.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Ask your Mum for permission.

Is it a work PC?
Might be that the folder you're saving it into has "read only" access.
If you find the appropriate folder and right click and properties you might be able to "undo" that if that is the case.

Did you install anything on your PC prior to this happening. Any anti-virus software?
