Anyone got one? I got one on the weekend for $600-, dont really know why I got one as I havent touched my PS2 for 18 months (my son now enjoys it though)

Mainly wanted it for the Blu Ray options with the new LCD....

If you have one what games do you play and recommend? Can get games for about $43- off ebay from a US supplier (good exchange rate helps!) cant bring myself to pay $100-+ for a game (unless they had another Tomb Raider 8) )

Do vidoe/DVD shops rent out Blu Ray movies?

Just bought one yesterday :)

Mainly for blu-ray, but I'll get a few games for it as well. Can use it as a bit of a multimedia center as well.
You'll find some video shops will rent out movies and possibly games as well.

For game reviews I was looking at the IGN site on the w/e http://au.ps3.ign.com/
Includes video reviews, which is very handy.
Care to mention the ebay link for $43 games?

Note that while games are region free, some movies aren't.
The US is region A, while we are region B.

If you are considering buying movies from Amazon or similar, have a look at this list first:

I bought one myself on Wednesday. So far I have FEAR (free game - played it before and it's like a PS2 game), Call of Duty 4 which is awesome, and PES 08 which is a great football game.

Other good games I've played include Blazing Angels (I think that's what it's called, a fighter pilot game which uses the motion sensor controls beautifully) and Resistance - Fall of Man.

I looked at a PS3 and decided to buy a Wii to match my Nintendo World. I have nearly all nintendo consoles released in Australia I am missing one or two and a gameboy pocket.

I still have two NES systems! :)

I won't touch blu-ray until I see who wins the fight (plus I ain't convinced on Blu-ray)

Makes me feel hi-tech, with my N64. Still does the job for the smac-clan. Although smac jr is pushing for a Wii for Christmas (although he is getting sick of my Wii jokes, I may win this one... Dad, can I get a Wii? Sure son, toilet's down the hall, last door on the right... Shut up Dad...).

Agreed regarding blu-ray, unconvincing so far.
