FC, I know they don't normally offer an on site service, but they could easily arrange for one of their technicians to go out there, or just hire someone to do it. I think you'd find if you pushed the issue they'd make an exception to sort it out without having to offer any sort of refund.

Be very careful when naming companies on a forum. I used to post on the MMM forum back in 2001 and a dispute with a certain company found it's way on to the forum. The board admin bloke got the arse and the site got shut down. I'm not a mod but this shit can turn nasty if anyone from you know where were to read the posts of this thread.

You could ring up Leon Byner on 5AA during the day if all else fails :D

He has a contact at Consumer Affairs he puts the callers on to

But the bad publicity alone will probably have the State Manager personally delivering a new PC to your door

I looked on their web-site and it seems the stores are franchisees rather than directly owned so you may be have got on to a business owner with less of a customer service focus than other stores.

Did I post that they rang and offered me office for $100 and that was the best they could do, otherwise the offer to check out the hard drive if I were to bring it in... 4 out of 5 times it still wont shut down..
