Just came back from a friend's where I was introduced to the Wii and I'm looking at maybe getting a good value bundle.
This link seems too good to be true? What do you Wii experts think?

Recharging the controller batteries has saved us a packet I reckon. I think the console is about $388 everywhere still, sometimes you can get a game bundled in but the stuff in that bundle is the same value as a game so it works out a lot the same I think. EB & JB usually have good deals going. Just looked at JB, $399 with animal crossing.

I reckon I'm going to get one pre modded.
It's the regular no-frills sports back, only $100 extra. Free postage and importantly, 12 months warranty.

Someone convince me otherwise, I've got an itchy credit card finger...

EDIT: I just did some research on acegamestore and apparently they have had lots of complaints. Might look at ozmodchips.com instead as they seem to come highly recommended.

Is Wii Fit a joke or can you actually get fit using it?

You can't get fit from it but it can aid you in getting fit.
The exercises are a waste of time but the way it monitors your weight and tracks you against your goal can be useful.

It is fun though.

We bought Wii fit for the balance board, to use with skating/snowboarding games. The Wii Fit game itself is just good for a laugh and as Wedgie said the monitoring side of it can be useful if you want to use it for that.

Modded is the way to go, but backing up games is slow process and requires a certain drive to accomplish.

I don't plan on 'backing up' any games so to speak ;)

I got the EA sports Active Trainer - been trying to stick to the 30 day course. It's pretty good, solid half-hour sessions raise a good sweat. One criticism - too many squats! Ouch, my knees!

That's a good one Chuck. Godfather, Big Beach Sports, Family Ski & Snowboard are all pretty good too. Kids are finishing these games quicker than I can download, I mean purchase them legally.

I have a USB drive plugged into my Wii...
All my games are "backed up" on that ..

You turn the Wii on, go to the USB Drive channel, and there you have it, 40 games.

NO ONE inserts DVDs anymore!

;)
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.
