Amazing how technology has advanced so much!

 crazy how much it's changed.
Nextgen consoles should be out next year too to take it to another level!

playing a game like nba 2k12, it seems like the next step up is almost to have the actual image of the players running around on the screen, and not just a computer generated image of the player.

As in create yourself and start as a rookie in the minor league and try and make the big time? If so then yes, at least in this version anyway..

I played this non stop for a few months on my laptop with an Xbox control for Windows. Awesome game, but the season goes way too long in My Player. I started off with Corpus Christi Hooks in the minors and got promoted to the Houston Astros after the first season. Dominated in my Rookie year, breaking Babe Ruths batting records and winning Rookie of the Year. Houston did terrible though, finishing second botton in their division, so I requested a trade to Detroit. About 10 games in and 2nd in our division.

does it make you field for the whole game if you're a batter?

Unless I have the settings messed up....

You only play the parts of the game that you are involved in. Eg when a ball is hit to you in the field etc and your at bats.

Sometimes it would be good to play the whole game as a fielder, but this way you can get through the games pretty quick.

Unless you want to be a starting pitcher

I got Madden 13 on Friday and spent most of the weekend playing it. The new Connected Career mode is taking a bit to get used to, but Im loving being able to scout college players during the regular season. The new physics engines good too. Players arent sucked into a tackle anymore and if you get clipped you can keep your feet better.

When I wasnt playing Madden I was playing Gran Turismo 5. Ive had it since it came out and only played it off and on since then. I dont like how they dont have manufacturor championships and less championships than GT3 and GT4. Right now Im stuck at Level 20, trying to get to Level 21 and also only have about $50k when I need a multi-million dollar car to compete in the only championship available to me I havent done. So it looks like Ill be doing the same old championships over and over again for a while.

MADDEN 13

I started Connected Career as a QB and started as a low draft pick. In Madden 13, you dont go through the draft, which I thought takes away from the game a bit. You pick whichever team you want to play for, but if that team isnt looking to recruit someone at your position, you're gonna be 2nd or 3rd string for a fair while. Eg. If you want to be a QB, dont play for Denver or Washington. You wont get a game. Hence why I didnt even attempt to start at Houston.

I picked the Browns to start at, thinking Ill just slot into their terrible offence. But since I went as a low draft pick to get a bit more slack with mistakes, my ratings started a bit lower than Colt McCoy and he started the first 8 games of the season. Even a terrible game with 6 interceptions didnt get him dropped, so I restarted.

This time I started as a high draft pick at Seattle. I was in the season preview news compared to Andrew Luck and RGIII. The preseason games went quickly with me only playing the first quarter in each game. Ive played 3 regular season games and finished 2 of those games on 199 throwing yards. Im doing ok, but after a while Ill get the hang of the new throwing system and start dominating.

I wish more games were like that and you actually had to work to get a regular gig in the side.
More often than not, it's far too easy and unrealistic for my liking.

Yeah Im the same. I need for things to be realistic to keep my interest. Thats why I liked F1 Championship Edition, where you started as a test driver and had to work your way into the team.

Like I said, the lack of draft disappointed me. Ive seen video stories of the new NCAA games Road to Glory mode. It looks even better than Madden. Just gotta decide if i wanna fork out another $70 odd after already paying $90 for Madden.
