now I cant add smilies or watch you tube stuff, it says I dont have adobe or java, so I go to install them and it says I already have it...

What have I done now? (insert annoyed smiley)

In XP click Start then Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs. Wait for the list to come up. Adobe Reader should show up, under the As and Java when you get to the Js. If they are not in the list got to the Adobe and Java web sites, not other sites that offer them, and down load them then install. If they do appear in the list, download the new versions and save them where you can find them again, remove the old versions via Add or Remove Programmes, reboot the computer, then reinstall them.

If the reinstall won't proceed you may need to use a Registry Cleaner first, then reboot and try again. Here is a free Registry Cleaner - http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm

Yes basically, I haven't used Vista, but the should be equivalents to the Start and Control Panel designations. They may have changed the names slightly, and I'm not sure whether the EasyClean programme will work with Vista. Diss may know more about Vista than me - I've avoided it.

I uninstalled and re-installed java ok, but I cant install any adobe stuff, its not working.

Anyone want to buy a computer? (insert annoyed smiley)

ok, i just played around with some stuff I probably shouldnt have but it looks like stuff is working again

The free Open Office will save as pdf format too.

Crap again.. Everytime I want to watch something it now says that i dont have flash player. Ive uninstalled it and re-intslled it 3 times already. It looks like it's not saving becuase when I reboot it still says I dont have it.

Sounds a bit like the problem may be Vista incompatability. You may need special Vista compatible versions, or to do the XP Pro "crossgrade". I am not really familiar with Vista so you may need input from Diss or one of the other IT guys.

Which site/program are you trying to download music from FC?
I suspect that may be your problem, Im constantly fixing my bloody parents PCs up after they try to download stuff using non torrent technology. :evil:

No, I download flash from the adobe website.

It tells me I need flash whenever I go to facebook or youtube and when I dont have flash I cant click on smilies here.

I've managed to get it working again but for how long who knows... :roll:
