Duck Smith's had them for $199 no-one else had them and I wanted them so I took the slightly more painful option.

Just went into Harvey Norman and noticed they had the double guitar pack lowered from 199.95 to 178.
Showed them the BigW catelogue and they let me have it for 148!
Bit hard carrying it on the bus but cant wait to get home now! :)

EB Games have them at $399. They also sell second hand (with 12 month warranty) for $369.

Yep. They were my thoughts also.

I guess they are still new enough, even second hand, to command a reasonable price from a reputable retailer. I'd grab a new one at those prices, personally.

I hear buying some games is a good idea.

I'll back off now, leave it to folks who have one to advise.

Make sure you get 2 controllers as most of the fun is playing against other people.
The console usually comes with Wii Sports which is great fun and will keep you going for a while.
Some deals come with 1 controller, some come with 2.
If you want 2 player boxing you'll also need 2 numbchucks which attach to the controllers but boxing isn't the best game, I hardly played that.

That'll do for starters, next step, get Guitar Hero!

If you get it chipped (prices range from $125 - $250) you can illegally download games for free, of course I would never recommend that but I can understand why unscrupulous people would do that as new games cost $60-$95 when they come out.

At least 2 controllers is a must. Just after Xmas, all the retail outlets in Adelaide had sold out of controllers, so i bought one on Ebay - brand new, from a dealer in Singapore. Cost around $40, and i got it within a week. No problems with it at all.

I agree Wedgie, boxing is my least favourite of the Wii Sports games - i love golf, and ten-pin bowling and tennis are ok too.

Cranked up the new Mario Kart the other day.
Bloody good fun.
They've revisited some of the old levels from SNES and N64 which is great.

Kids were playing it via the wireless net last night, works really well, no lag, plenty of people to race.

I may have had a "couple" of goes after they went to bed :)

Medal of Honour, while the game play is the smae as other consoles the graphices leave a little to be desired, but,in saying that, walking around with a black plastic machine gun is so much more fun than sitting with a controller.

Crikey, how did you get past the final battle on medium, that's where Im up to.
Struggled a bit on medium as my little finger came into play and it was quite badly broken when I was younger and bends the wrong way.
I assume to be able to do hard you've got to start moving your hand up and down, don't know if Im ready for that. :?
