Also, pre-ordered and pre-downloaded MLB The Show 17 for PS4.

All ready to go, just need to wait for 2.30pm tomorrow for it to unlock once it's released.

Prepare for boring baseball stories ;)

Definitely keen to get the show! Looks awesome...

I checked the PS4 this morning to make sure it was downloaded and ready to go for this arvo, and it told me it was "ready to play", and it was a miracle I switched it off and came to work.

It wasn't supposed to be playable til 2.30pm.

What's it like? The road to show looks really in depth this year...

@woodublieve12

A lot has changed since 15.

I created a Short Stop and used the stat points you start with the boost my fielding. Going to try something different, by being an asset in the field, instead of a power hitter.

The fielding mechanics have changed. As you go to gather the ball, you pre-power your throw to whichever base you want to throw to, the game slows right down and you have to aim at the base with R3 and hit R2 to throw. Makes fielding a whole lot more fun. There was a play where I dived, the ball ricocheted off my glove into the air, I got up and ran about 10 yards and caught it for the out. I'll upload it tonight.

There's a similar thing to the NBA2K games where you talk to coaches, advisers, GM's, etc, and that effects what happens to you.

There's only two Showcase games, where I went 0-4 in the first one, and 4-4 in the second with a walk off homer to win.

I was drafted 30th overall in the first round to the Cubs. Sent to AA team the Tennessee Smokies.

I think I'm about 12 games in, hitting just over .300, 3 HR's and 12 RBIs. I was sitting up about .500 but had two no-hitters in a row and stuffed that up.

The servers weren't up yet last night, so didn't get a chance to play any Diamond Dynasty. I've been told by a mate the servers went up this morning, so I'll have a crack tonight.

I got on Diamond Dynasty last night and set my team up. Tried to play a head to head game and it froze in the 3rd innings.

I was given the loss.

The servers are still pretty rooted, so I'll stick to RTTS til they're fixed.

I played a couple of Diamond Dynasty games on MLB last night.

My teams mostly silver and bronze players. Most of the packs I got with the preorder were shit. I bought Evan Gattis on the Market, just to get a better power hitter on my roster.

The first game was against a Japanese guy. Game was tight all the way through and it ended 2-0 his way. Pretty similar hit count, but he got more guys in.
The second game was against a Canadian guy. That game ended 4-0 his way. I only got 2 hits. One single and one double. His first hit was a home run to Corey Dickerson. His second hit was a home run to Bautista. He hit a 2 run homer later in the game to go up 4-0. I tend to swing way early at slow pitches and way late on fast ones. Need to play more online.

We'll have to have a head to head game when we're both on.

Dynamic batting difficulty just rose up to All-Star, and I'm finding it easier than on Veteran. I think the help it gives you on the lower difficulties was actually throwing off my timing.

I've found it easier to identify balls and strikes this year too. I'm actually laying off pitches and drawing walks. I walked twice in a row with George Springer last night.

The only problem with the game is I want to play all three modes, but there's not enough time in the day. I had my first few games in Franchise last night. Played the first Spring Training game to get a feel for all of the new guys, then simmed and played the Opening Day game against the Mariners, which I won 2-1 with a home run each to Springer and Reddick.

Really hoping the server issues get fixed soon for Diamond Dynasty. The PS Store is giving me $15 this week for spending $75 in March, so I'll be spending that on stubs.

My RTTS shortstop got moved to CF, which annoyed me. I played 10 games there, and when the coach asked me to stay there to maybe be able to fill a need for the Cubs, I refused and was moved back to SS. Now my best shot at the big leagues is if I get traded, but I really want to play shortstop this time. I've played heaps of outfield.

@woodublieve12

I noticed you on yesterday but didn't want to interrupt your RTTS.

How's it going? Being able to just play a whole series with no loading screens makes it ridiculously fast to get through a season.

In 2 years I'd only got to 2020 in The Show 15, but at this rate, I'll be through a year every 2 or 3 weeks real time.

I'm just over half way through the first season, was selected for the AA All-Star game at Shortstop and went 1-3 before being subbed out in the 5th.

I just signed an agent, as opposed to an adviser and told him I don't see myself staying with the Cubs because the MLB level SS is really good, and still only 23. Doubt I'll get a shot over him. I really wouldn't mind going to a shit team.

In 15 my guy was a starting pitcher who sat around 4th in the rotation, so started with the Brewers for 4 years (2.5 in the minors, 1.5 in the majors), was traded to the Phillies, then within a couple of months traded to the Rangers.

This time I think I'd like to stick to one club for at least a few seasons.

Yeah the game is great. Still adjusting to the slight changes to the game...I am a SS who was picked up in the draft by the Astros... I've only played a couple of games... just had a 4 hitter. I reckon I will request a trade when I can (same reason as you) and certainly sign an agent when possible.
Graphics are great.
Will try and get on tonight.

Yeah you won't get a gig with the Astros while Correa's there.

Did you get drafted very high?

Yeah my thoughts exactly.

It was round 1 pick 18 I think. Around there... I think my fielding cost me a bit regarding my draft position.

I really like the interaction side of things in rtts.

I saw you were online around 1030ish but thought by the time a game was done it would be to late...

I had a real quick look atDiamond dynasty, looks great! Love the fact you can design team uniforms (I realise how gay that sounded. Not that there is anything wrong with that!). Is that where we would play each other?

We can play in Diamond Dynasty, or just an exhibition game using the real teams. Either ways fine with me.

Just finished my first year in RTTS.

Was promoted to AAA after the halfway point, struggled with hitting because the move coinsided with the Dynamic hitting difficulty jumping me up to Hall of Fame.

Ended the season not making playoffs, hitting .205 and hoping to get traded.

The Cubs also went back to back World Series Champions.

Now in Spring Training 2018. Hitting 3-7 as a pinch hitter so far.

Made the opening day roster for the Cubs but only being used as a pinch hitter.

15 games, 15 at bats, 5 hits
.333 isnt bad. Still hoping for a trade because of the lack of ABs and no fielding.

Played some Diamond Dynasty Bronze & Common Event and got smoked. Online is way harder than offline.

I got given some money on PS Store by Sony for spending money in March, so I used that to buy Stubs in MLB and get some packs.

The best card I pulled was this one. Worth about 15,000 Stubs if I sell it. Really considering it.

Got promoted to AAA after about 3/4 of the season. Had a decent season in AA, hit around 330 and hit 19 HR. Finished the year in AAA and hit 10 HR and hit around 330 too. Started the follow season on the 40 man roster and currently in spring training, I've hit the 1 HR and hitting around .280. Still keen to get a trade but management seem pretty happy with me.

Also I am thinking of buy the premium pack for BF1. Anyone else got it?

I was the pinch hitter for the Chicago Cubs up until the All-Star break in 2018. I was hitting .200, which isn't bad, but when you only get one AB a game, that's 2 hits out of every 10 games.

The Cubs are struggling after back to back World Series, and they dropped me back to the Iowa Cubs in AAA. They're sitting top and dominating, so I'm not too mad. I've played 8 games since being dropped, and we've won all 8 by large margins. One was 16-2 against the Round Rock Express (the Texas Rangers affiliate).

After being polite to my coaches, I've changed my tune and now Im talking back. Trying to make them want to trade me. Hopefully I can snag a AAA title before that though.

First major league hit was a home run. Second hit a triple.
Only down side is I started at left field
