Wondering if people had experiences/opinions on the following:

Using Kogan as a carrier? Seems awfully cheap for great deals on the Telstra 3g network.

3g v 4g. For data use on a mobile how much of an advantage does 4g have in Adelaide?

Samsung Galaxy S3 v Motorola RZR? Normally wouldnt go past the Galaxy as its the best phone going around but the Motorola has an awesome battery life. Anyone played with/compared these two?

I've been told the hTC model just released apparently wipes the floor with them all. Anyone got one of these?

4g is amazing over 3g and the coverage is only going to get better. galaxy s3 or rzr would touch either iPhone 5 kills both of them. why would you even consider using crappy android for?

Wouldnt touch an Iphone unless I wanted a kids toy. Thanks for the input re 4g. I suppose Ill just have to work it out value wise now as 4g over 3g would set me back approx $800 for 2 years. Not sure thats worth it for some extra speed especially as I have access to wireless at home and sometimes at work.

$800 for 2 years? shouldn't cost you anymore then 3g. If you have a 4g enable phone it will automatically connect to the 4g service without anymore extra charge. I've only used 4g in WA and didn't get charged for it. Im with optus so havent been in the city recently to connect to 4g here in adelaide. My brother is with telstra and has 4g and also loves it over 3g

Yeah. Its the difference between going through Telstra (for 4g) and going through Kogan for Telstras 3g network.

Are we actually looking at the smart phone itself or looking at the provider plan..?

Samsung Galaxy s3 is hard to beat.

Re: Advice - Help me get a new Smart Phone

My employer pays my phone bill and supplies a basic phone.

I upgrade the phone. :D

only problem with the s3 is the software it runs. until android becomes safe and scure you really can't compare the 2.

Nerds here reckon the S4 is coming out soon.
Personally anything that supports 4g and has good battery life will win me over and and at the very least a battery that can be carried and replaced easily like current non Apple phones. I wont care if its Apple, Samsung or Atari.

I recently updated my HTC to an Iphone and i have to say it was the best move regarding phones i have ever done. Iphone is user friendly, has loads of storage space for apps and the battery life is pretty good.

Believe me, 4G (LTE) is awesome but as you suggest, its heavy on the gas.

Did a speed test in the city the other day ... 42Mbps down, 33Mbps up

Correct weight mate, very awkward replacing Iphone batteries unlike other phones.
I had one of those cases when I had an Iphone, very bulky, bought one for the missus who preferred her phone to run flat than have that oversized alien attached to it.
