Headphones

Postby zipzap » Sun Dec 13, 2009 1:43 pm

This could be in the music forum but I guess it's more tech-related. I'm after a pair of headphones for home hi-fi & iPod use. Don't want ear buds, don't want wireless, don't want PC headphones - though they might be used for that.
Looking to spend a somewhere between the ultra cheapies and the ridiculously priced - but no doubt fabulous - audiophile cans, say $100-$175?

Any advice appreciated. Anyone experienced Audio-Technica as a brand? I've heard they're pretty good.

Excuse the spelling but I'd always go Plantronics (for gaming) or probably Senheiser (for music/movies/etc).

Zip, you must've been thinking along the same lines. I'm going to get my old man a set of wireless headphones but have no idea where to start.

Do I need to get a set that is specifically for TV (which is all that he's after?)

gadj I found that http://headphones.com.au/ is quite a good starting point, they seem quite open and honest about the advice they give about their products. Sadly though I'll probably buy online from OS - it's kinda hard to resist when you can get a vastly superior set for the same price as a mediocre one here.
