Sound & Graphics Card

Postby Punk Rooster » Wed Apr 30, 2008 9:12 pm

Ok, my computer has just been rescued again (for the 3rd time)- basically the Hard Drive is on it's way out.
I've backed everything up, but have no sound, & when I scroll the screen, it takes forever.

Now joy.

I looked inside the machine, read the serial number off of the graphics accelerator, googled on the net, downloaded the driver, & I'm back on track!
Now I have no sound... any help?

Read the details of the sound card or chip and download its drivers.
If it isn't clearly identified PC Wizard, another free download, may be able to identify it, or the sound chip drivers may come with the motherboard drivers if it is an integrated chip.

If I knew which was which, I would.
The Graphics Card had info on it, making it obvious what it was- I could even tell which one was mine, out of MK 1 & 2, as they had different heat sinks.

Sound Card is less easy to fnd/identify...

Is there actually a card or is it intergrated into the motherboard? If it's intergrated get the model of your motherboard and search for drivers for that. There will be specific drivers for the on board sound.
