Microsoft Internet Explorer 7

Postby Hondo » Sat Dec 08, 2007 6:25 pm

To fix problems we were having with BigPond email, Telstra advised us to update to Internet Explorer 7

Since doing so, the speed of loading web-sites and surfing has dropped off to  levels even tho we are on Broadband.

I am no IT expert .... is there a setting with the program I can change to improve the speed? Or any other tips?

The hard rive has about 70% disk space free. The PC is about 3 years old.

IE 7 is little more secure than the older versions.

I think they want you to use it so their spyware can gather saleable [and theoretically anonymous] data about your browsing habits and send it to them! See my post in AFL about recent changes to AFL web site behaviour.

Dump IE then dump BigPond!

Amen, no offence to people who aren't IT savy but its so easy to download and install.
(Just go here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ and click on the big green button)
Only a complete idiot would use IE of any sort. (Unless you're actually after slower response time, more spyware and more likehood of getting a virus).
