I didn't think the Blackberry had hit Australia yet and had only just been released overseas?
The Ipad would be the best by far IMHO but I must admit if I was to buy one I'd look closesly at the Blackberry as its a more appealing size to me.
Its not how big they are but what you do with them that counts! :D

My step-mother has an I-Pad, which I have used a few times, and find it quite easy to navigate, and reasonably easy to type with.

We got the Leader Computers equivalent in at work yesterday, and it is quite ordinary, really slow, and a pain to type with (I actually made a few posts on here yesterday with great difficulty).

Added to that the Leader Tablet is around the $800-900 mark...

Android is great on a phone.

The blackberry tablet is the only one that claims to be able to compete with the iPad.

The others are good, but can't live up to it apparently!

Even though I use (and love) my android phone. I'd go an iPad just for the pure fact of there are so many apps for it.

Agreed

It does, in the end, come down to applications.
That's what you use on the phone.

Sure, you need to be able to navigate, have compatibility etc - but you use the apps daily.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.
