Huge vote of confidence from the new majority owner. Joey still had 2 years to go on the extension he signed a year and a half ago so to tear that up and give him a new 5 year deal is huge. Very happy we're staying with Joey long term.

Big signing by the two time defending NBL champs with the Perth Wildcats announcing the signing of ex-NZ Breakers star guard Corey Webster. The Wildcats will be banking on him re-discovering the form that saw him play some NBA pre-season games with New Orleans in 2015. Webster won three NBL championships in his time with the Breakers.

Beat me to it! It really is great news he had a player option for next season but opted out to become a free-agent no doubt to at least get a pay rise and listened to offers from other NBL teams and no doubt Euro teams but felt the loyalty the Sixers showed him giving him his initial contract, playing for Joey and unfinished business from last season made him come back.

This is pretty big for the club according to Boti Nagy Sobey was so keen to come back to the Sixers he didn't even insist on the standard NBA & European out-clauses in most NBL contracts and even knocked back more money from Perth & Melbourne too.

Randle gone!
Adelaide apparently didn't even make an offer to him and he has left the NBL

One might suggest that perhaps his asking price was too hefty for the 36ers to even consider?

Too hefty for any NBL club apparently.
Simply priced himself out of the market.

Hugely disappointing.

Interested to hear Gozu's thoughts on this.

It would open up serious space in the cap. Thoughts on who we might pursue, or leagues/colleges we might scout?

It's pretty obvious he's priced himself out of this league unless a club is willing to coff up $1m a year which he would get easily in China and most of Europe anyway

I thought his quality of life was more important to him and was considering becoming an Australian Citizen.

I think he will be back

Randle is worth every cent that they pay him, my son(8) and I had season tickets this year for the first time. When i told him today that Randle wasn't coming back he said he doesn't want to go to the games next year.
