Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested Thursday after officers pulled him over for speeding on a motorcycle while carrying two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun in a guitar case.

Prince George's County police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Reedy said Friday the Cleveland Cavaliers player was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday.

Reedy said West was riding a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle north on the Capital Beltway in Upper Marlboro when he cut off an officer, who pulled him over.

Police said a handgun was found in his pocket, another in his pant leg and a shotgun in a guitar case strapped to his back.

Reedy said West "was very cooperative, there were no issues" during the incident.

The 26-year-old West, who lives in Brandywine, was charged with speeding and weapons counts. It is illegal to carry concealed weapons and to transport loaded guns in Maryland, according to police. Reedy said West was released on his own recognizance early Friday.

Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said the team was monitoring the situation.

"We have been in communication with Delonte and his family," Ferry said in a statement. "We are gathering more information and will not have further comment until the appropriate time."

Online court records did not list an attorney for West.

Last year, West left the Cavaliers' training camp to seek treatment for depression and a "mood disorder" he said he has battled his entire life. At the time, he said he was taking medication and attending therapy sessions. West said his mood problems date to his childhood.

West has said his mood swings seem to be most erratic when his life seems to be in order

One HD have some NBA action coming up this week. In honour of the recent Hall of Fame inductees Michael Jordan & David Robinson a couple of classic games from their careers plus a look back at this year's NBA Draft:

9:30pm Tonight Game 6 1998 NBA Finals (feat Jordan's shot over Bryon Russell to seal the Bulls second three-peat and what would be MJ's sixth and final championship in his last game with the Bulls).

7pm Monday night 2009 NBA Draft-Opening Chapter (a one hour look at some of the players drafted this year).

9:30pm Wednesday night Game 5 1999 NBA Finals (David Robinson wins his first championship and also features some wild celebrations from Andrew Gaze who won a ring in his one and only year with the Spurs, he wasn't on the playoff roster but still gets right in on the celebrations when the siren goes).

It was of course Game 5 of the '97 Finals tonight and not Game 6 of the '98 Finals. The game tonight was the one where Jordan scored 38 points despite being sick.

These flashbacks have been fantastic to watch !! Knicks and Spurs last night, game 5 from 1999. It's interesting to see how the game has changed over the last few years with plenty of teams basing their offence around a strong inside game back in those days.... Great TV viewing though. Especially watching the Bulls the other night... MJ = legend

Was good to see our own Luc Longley in this game and he was a player who knew his role in this squad and played to it.
Also the late Bison Dele (known by his birthname of Brian Williams at this stage) was showing some moxy against Karl Malone.
Dele later came to prominence for his mysterious presumed death but also performed an unthinkable act in the modern sports world - he walked away from the game at 30 in his prime at Detroit with 5 years and 36 million US left on his contract!!!!!!!!!

Just a heads up next Wednesday at 9:30pm on One HD they're showing Game 5 of the first round playoff series in 1989, Chicago vs Cleveland which features Jordan's legendary game/series winning shot over Craig Ehlo. Supposedly One HD are also showing "NBA Amazing Playoff Moments" at 7:20pm on Sunday night.

If you've got Foxtel on ESPN they've been showing pre-season games this week. Next up is Utah vs Real Madrid in Spain at 5am Friday morning which is being replayed at 7pm Friday night & Denver vs Indiana in China at 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon.

Yeah that was great to watch last night. I don't know how anyone could make an argument that MJ isn't the best ever but some try. Next Wednesday night they're showing Game 6 of the 1997 Western Confernece Finals between Utah & Houston.

Nathan Jawai was today traded from Dallas to Minnesota. With the Timberwolves being a rubbish team and having injuries to a few of their bigs he should get a bit more court time than he would've got with the Mavs.

Hopefully so and would be good to see Mills get some court time with Portland now that they've signed him to a contract.

I don't think Mills will be at Portland for long. He kinda forced them to sign him against their wishes and given the fact he's out until at least January I would think they might try and trade him or buy him out and release him before then.

That's a pretty fair call but more I think about it I really do like Jawai with the Timberwolves.

Keep your eyes peeled for Denver's probable signing of James White. Will be an athlete right up there with Jamario Moon, Rudy Gay and Gerald Green (BTW, Why is Green not still in the NBA?)

To further add, I personally love the Cavaliers signing of Moon in the offseason and there's going to be some sort of highlight reels coming between him and Lebron James.

I'm with ya mate and what makes the Timberwolves thing with Jawai even better is that supposedly the Mavs paid for his salary for the season in the deal too so there's almost no incentive for Minnesota to waive Jawai during the season. With their injuries to Love and by the looks of things Jefferson (again) he should get some genuine opportunities (at least early) and the Timberwolves GM said they were thinking about making a trade for Jawai before their injuries happened too which is good to hear.

Didn't James White jump over a car in a dunk comp or something before his NBA days? I think with Gerald Green it's all about his attitude, a number of teams have given up on him already. I agree on the Cavs signing Jamario Moon, really good pick up that.

One HD are showing another one of those NBA's Greatest Games on sunday morning at 9am. It's Game 2 of the '99 Western Conference Finals, San Antonio vs Portland. The game features Sean Elliott's "Memorial Day Miracle" shot.
