Couldnt have gone to a club with less strenght at the centre position.
Anderson is the only signed player taller than 6-9

Quinten Richardson's summer of fun continues ;)

Richardson's wild summer tour of the NBA continued Thursday night, when he was traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Miami Heat for center Mark Blount.

Richardson spent the last four seasons with the New York Knicks and now has been traded four times in less than two months: to Memphis on draft night, then to the Los Angeles Clippers, then to Minnesota and now to Miami.

Minnesota named Kurt Rambis head coach.

( still remember him in the 80s playing for the Lakers with the hair and the glasses - poster boy that a nerd could play in the NBA)

hows my luck...........

i'm headed over to the US next year, being a massive lakers fan, i certainly wanted to catch a couple of NBA games. we're in L.A for about 12 nights, so i thought i'd maybe be able to catch 2 or 3 lakers games, and wouldnt mind seeing a clippers game too, sorta just so i could compare the two. but upon looking at the schedule, in the 12 nights we're in LA, both lakers and clippers only play 1 game each at home! and the lakers game is against Toronto, and the clippers game against oklahoma! there wouldnt be 2 teams i care about LESS than the raptors and thunder! the only good thing about these teams is i would be able to say i seen chris bosh and durant play.

so i'm going to have to settle for Lakers v Toronto, and clips v thunder, as i didnt think the NBA would take kindly to an aussie kid asking for the schedule to be changed. :(

Former Adelaide 36er Luke Schenscher is without a club to play for this season.

Schenscher's quest for a playing contract in the US or Europe has not yet been realised and the eight NBL clubs have finalised their rosters.

The 216-centimetre tall centre says his manager is still working hard to earn him a spot with a European club.

"I went over to try out in the US in front of all the European scouts and I hurt my back so I didn't get that try out, so that's why I'm finding it a bit hard because a lot of the European teams haven't seen me play for a couple of years," he said.

"So hopefully something will come up soon

haha

well, heres the thing. i would have thought about travelling to Sac-Town if there was an appealing enough team playing (ie cavs, boston, dallas etc etc...), there is 3 games in sacramento during my time in LA, and guess who two of them are..........

yep, Toronto and OKC.

and the other one is portland. which i could probably put up with, but wont do it because we fly out for sin-city early the next morning.

What about golden state? That isn't too far away.

The good thing is, It will be easier for you to get tickets to some of these games. If some of the more popular teams were in town, you may struggle

Bogut back for camp

Bogut, rehabbing from a stress fracture that wiped out the second half of last season, said Thursday his goal is to be ready for camp.

"I think it's on pace," he said. "If I can be ready to go then, the goal will be achieved. But, obviously, it'll be re-evaluated all throughout September."

Bogut has been working out on a limited schedule since July trying to strengthen the muscles around the injury and his core. While he's been shooting, he hasn't been able to participate in contact drills. That's forced the 7-footer to play ping pong and card games like Uno in an effort to stay competitively sharp.

"It's great to go out and practice by yourself and do shooting drills and so on, but as an athlete, you just want to go out and go against somebody," Bogut said. "I haven't had that competitiveness in me since February, it's been taken away by my injury."

Well it would appear we won't see Ricky Rubio in the NBA for at least two years.

I probably don't understand it all and he's making it sound like it's not happening because the Timberwolves can only put forward so much within the rules to try and buy out his current contract in Europe. I am getting the impression though that if he'd been drafted by the Lakers, Knicks, Cavaliers, etc that he would be here for this current season - certainly hope this isn't the case though.

Was shocked to read that former NBA player Rodney Rogers is now a quadriplegic following a November 2008 accident.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3744237

Remember him for hitting the three three pointers in 10 seconds once in a game but he was a solid player who was a college All American and had a 12 year NBA career.
