That was enough.

When a team meanders around like Adelaide, wandering and strolling around, then put a lazy pass up which is immediately picked off by the opposition and scored from, it gets very annoying to watch. It looks awfully like a team that has mentally packed up shop for the season already and is playing out time.

Not much can really be said here, apart from some bare statistics:

- With 8.12 remaining in the final term, Adelaide led by 12, 65-53.
- From that moment, they were outscored 22-10. In overtime, Adelaide missed three 3-point attempts altogether, had another blocked - so a lot of "money" shots being put up at a time when they needed to look for more realistic opportunities.
- Offensive rebounds: Adel 11, Melb 17. Assists 24 Melb, 19 Adel.
- Both teams had four players in double figures, so both spread it around.

Adelaide, bluntly, are lazy when the ball is in the opposition's situation, whether that be direct (possession), or indirect (off the boards). Ron Howard sustained an injury during the game, but cut him now and have a look at a couple of kids for the remainder of the year, properly.

I've held fire all year on Marty Clarke, preferring to give plenty of chances to settle, but tonight, it seemed confused and messy under pressure for the 36ers.

Across the country, well done to the Sydney Kings for belting Cairns, and continuing the Taipans' peculiar run of poor form in televised games.

I kept watch of the scores on-line.

Why do we know that Adelaide will always find a way to lose from a winning position?

They'd come from behind early to have all the momentum, then hit a brick wall.

You really have to wonder.

Gold Coast hosting New Zealand in what is shaping as one of the biggest shootouts seen in a NBL matcn for many years, particularly given they are now ten minute quarters

4.24 remaining in the second term.

NZ 52
Gold Coast 42

Half time:

NZ 67 (Penney 15, Bruton, Wilkinson 13)
Gold Coast 52 (Harvey 19, Clark 14)

If this pace kept up, we would be looking at over 230 points in total for the match - astonishing for a 40 minute game.

At the moment, defence is what is around de stadium. Had to check that the All-Star game hadn't kicked off early.

Thank goodness for all concerned. Played more like Ralph Malph

Gold Coast win 94-91, after the Breakers ran home hard in the final term. These teams play a very entertaining style, hard and high scoring. Could be interesting if they meet in the finals.
