In a big blow for the Sydney Kings they confirmed today that Julian Khazzouh is leaving the team and will be playing in Europe next season. It also seems in the article that young star Anatoly Bose is officially gone too.

Shane Heal said that with the departure of Khazzouh and Bose, the club was in a good position to restructure the on-court team.

"We knew in early March that Khazzouh and Bose could potentially be playing in Europe next season, so we have already targeted a few players to take up their positions with the Sydney Kings," Shane said.

Yep. It seems like all the right noises are being made but I don't think free agents can officially sign with any other team bar their current one until Wednesday and I suspect it might happen then. A bit of talk about Melbourne being keen but it seems like he wants to come back home now.

There was a bit of talk during the playoffs that supposedly the 36ers had convinced a star player at another club to join the team next season and most thought that was Worthington but it's starting to look like it might've been Schenscher.

Cadee is still a rumour at this stage isn't it Johno? I don't think the Blaze have gone bust (and are expected to continue next season) but from what I can gather are doing this to try and get out from under their contractual obligations to their former coach Brendan Joyce.

In a big day of signings for the Sydney Kings today they announced they've signed Ian Crosswhite (Taipans), James Harvey (Blaze), Tom Garlepp (Blaze) and have re-signed Aaron Bruce.

Yeah he still had two years left on his four year contract when they sacked him and didn't want to pay up so he took the Blaze owners to court and won for the full amount remaining on his contract plus interest (all up $350K+) and the talk is the owners have put the club into voluntary administration to try and delay making the first payments of the court ruling.

Messy business and as the Blaze owners are supposedly multi-millionaires pretty poor form too.

Luke Schenscher to play for Adelaide
The Adelaide 36ers have secured the services of 216cm Centre Luke Schenscher for the following two seasons with an option for an additional year.
Schenscher played the past two seasons in Townsville and averaged 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in season 2011/12.
Originally from Adelaide, Schenscher will be returning home in July to start training with the Adelaide 36ers.
Leeanne Grantham, Chief Executive Officer of the Adelaide 36ers says that the Club is excited to have Luke Schenscher back home and wearing Adelaide 36ers colours.
“The Club really wanted to secure Luke’s services, and it is great to have a South Australian of his calibre in the team,”
“We look forward to him returning to Adelaide Arena and I am sure that our members and fans will be very thrilled to see him.”
Adelaide 36ers Head Coach, Marty Clarke said that he is pleased that Schenscher has agreed to play for the Club.
“We needed a talented big man to come into the team and securing Luke is a great opportunity for us, as we plan to make the finals this coming season.”
