Have been saying to a number of NBL following mates all season that the Taipans should be the title favorite, and playing like it tonight, but really need a couple of away wins to boost things. Having said that, the way they reeled in the Hawks Friday night, after the latter skipped right away in the third, was very impressive.

Final Score

Gold Coast 94
Sydney 91

Sydney shooting themselves in the foot with an unsportsmanlike foul with 20 seconds left.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

It's hitting the fan in Tigerland at the moment. Press conference to be held at 11am on Wednesday and the talk is that two-time championship winning coach Al Westover will be sacked and a few players are also expected to be given the boot too. Supposedly import Eric Devendorf, Wade Helliwell and development player Boden Westover (Al's son).

While they have been very disappointing the last two seasons, it looks that majority owner Seamus McPeake really does wield a lot of influence there. Possibly too much.

Westover and Devendorf gone. Darryl McDonald to coach for the rest of the season.

Supposedly Seamus McPeake (the Tigers joke of a majority owner) said on SEN today that another player will probably be axed in the next 24 hours (Helliwell?) and I heard that last night Boden Westover (Tigers DP) said on Facebook he was now 'retired'.

I missed the start of Overtime but supposedly D-Mac said Luke Nevill is gone, is that right?

Guess I'll have to watch the replay which for anyone that's interested is on Channel Ten at around 11pm tonight.

With the cyclone situation up in FNQ, Friday night's Cairns v Perth game has been postponed to 26 March.

Tigers star off-season recruit Luke Nevill has quit the club and decided to take up a contract in Russia and it seems both Helliwell and Tigers DP Boden Westover will remain with the team.

On the One HD front the Breakers/Hawks game is about to start in 10 minutes, the Kings vs 36ers game is on at 8pm Friday night and the new look Tigers host the Hawks on Sunday at 5:30pm.

Also for anyone that missed Overtime last night (the replay on Ten wasn't shown due to the cyclone coverage) it's being replayed at around 12:30am tonight on One.

Agree with CK, a very entertaining game to watch...

Kirk Penney was the top scorer of the game with 22 for NZ while Gary Ervin had 21 pts for the Hawks

May as well give Gary Ervin the MVP now. He has been a long way ahead of the competition this year as the best player in the league.
