Its all over lads... this series is an example of how the best two teams aren't playing each other....I thought the cavs would have something but spurs have just ripped them apart... they are certainly a good team...

Spurs are a unit.

Duncan, Parker and Ginobilli is a pretty formidable combination.

Anyone else see Eva Longoria jump all over Parker after the game? Looks like the championship ring won't be the only ring he gets this week!

Was this the dullest NBA finals in memory?
The Stanley Cup wasn't much better and a friend of mine
thought that the Tony awards beat both of them.

I wouldnt say the dullest. The San Antonio v New Jersey series a few years ago was pretty dull. Atleast this year had LeBron involved even if he didnt do bugger all.

Interesting situation with Kobe Bryant wanting out of the Lakers
Can't see it happening but also can't see Bryant wanting to play out his prime years for a non contender and for that matter, you can't see Phil Jackson wanting to continue on as coach for a non contender. You never know what the Lakers might do though and perhaps they're seeking someone like a Kevin Garnett.
For Bryant to play for a contender, he'd have to sacrifice some of his salary and probably some of his scoring as well.
Would like to see him suit up for the Clippers as I feel they have the pieces, despite going downhill a bit this past season and I'm sure that would suit him staying in Los Angeles and you'd figure that a warrior like Elton Brand would appreciate it as well.

Certainly plenty of news during and since the draft.
Seattle ended up trading Ray Allen to Boston for the fifth pick in the draft, a guy by the name of Jeff Green who is also considered a hot prospect and Allen's forward sidekick Rashard Lewis has signed a deal with the Orlando Magic and he'll replace Grant Hill who signed a deal with the Phoenix Suns.
Knicks gained Portland forward Zach Randolph on draft night and the Knicks are getting real excited about this one but I don't like the chemistry of Marbury and Randolph and personally think that the Knicks will finish in the cellar again.
Have to Like Portland at the moment. Easy decision to draft Oden but they also got some other quality players in the draft and they appear to have the front running on one or two other role playing free agents.
Yi JianLian doesn't seem to want to play in Milwaukee but I hope the Bucks hold their ground on this one and force him to report or if he so desires he can continue to play in China.
Great for Adelaide's Brad Newley to get drafted in the second round by Houston but I don't know if it was media sensationalism or whether the media doesn't know how the draft system works but second round draft choices more often than not don't even make the team, so while he's got a foot in the door, the hard work is definitely still in front of him. Don't forget, Ben Pepper and CJ Bruton have also been second round draft choices in the past as well.
Looks like Kevin Garnett will end up getting traded. Where that will be will be interesting but if he wants to play for a contender he's going to have to sacrifice some of his salary to fit in under a contender's salary cap.
The San Antonio Spurs selected another international player with the 28th overall pick in Tiago Splitter. Splitter was expected to go a bit higher than that so it could be another bit of shrewd drafting by the Spurs.

Kevin Garnett finally gets traded to the Boston Celtics for five players, two future first round draft choices and cash considerations.
Will be interesting to see how Pierce, Allen and he pan out but given that all three are closer to the end of their careers than the start, have the Celtics mortgaged their future to try and win now?

The Celtics of 2013 could now go 6-72, but may have a Eastern (Weakstern) Conference Title from 2008. Just one point - there is still only one ball on the court at anyone time, will they fight each other???

In what can only be described as an absolute disaster for the Portland Trailblazers, rookie phenom Greg Oden will miss the entire season after undergoing microfracture knee surgery.
About the only good that can come out of it for them is if the blazers stink it up and land one of the top choices in the 2008 draft a la the San Antonio Spurs when David Robinson missed the entire 1996-97 campaign and they ended up with Tim Duncan.

Being a long time Blazers fan all i can say is sh*t :?

I knew it was on the cards, but still disappointing. Makes the move to send Zach R east for little return seem even sillier. we've been stinking it up for the past 4 years. It gets a bit tiresome

Just when you thought the club's luck was turning (granted, we havent done much to deserve a change of luck) this happens.

Lets hope he doesnt turn out to be the next Sam Bowie.

Sam Bowie's getting a good run on ESPN atm.

If Oden's injury is indeed an omen, Kevin Durant and Seattle will be pretty happy...

After all of the effort that the Milwaukee Bucks have put in for Yi Jianlian, their first pick in the draft (6th overall) it seems that he will have a bit to learn before the season starts. In his first game for the club, Yi fouled out in 16 minutes after scoring three points, after being run around by energetic Joakim Noah (23rd pick).
In his second game Yi started and scored 13 points but had 8 turnovers. Andrew Bogut had a solid game with 10 pts (3-5FG) 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 TO and 4 blocks in 22 minues. The Bucks lost to the Jazz to be 2-1 in pre season
