The 36ers have just announced they've signed a new import in Scott Christopherson, a 6'3" SG who had been playing in Belarus.

Watched this game on tv without knowing what had happened and this is the most contrasting basketball game ive ever seen never seen a team do what they want in the first half in the paint with shensh and DJ to then not being able to make a bucket in the second half. Dont know what Crosswell was doing in the last his job isnt to drive and put up stupid runners, its like they forget how to play in the 4th qtr of games, no ball movement and just standing there and dribbling aint gonna get the ball in the hoop.
I will say that Jackson stepped up big time in the second half but they should of got nowhere near the 36ers in this one.
I dont know if Clarke needs to go but something has to be done or all 36ers fans will leave at 3qtr time of every game coz thats when the players leave

Yet another 4th quarter meltdown after having a double figure lead at 3 quarter time. Outscored 24-5 in the 4th quarter.

I've never seen a team choke as much as this in a season.

If Marty Clarke still had any dignity left he would retire to the study and do the right thing.

Thank God, I thought it was me. Actually releaved to hear the posters thought it was shit. Tough to watch as I have experienced in my 5 or 6 appearances at home but to listen on radio was even more brutal as the experts told me we are shit and I assume they would know. Piss off Clarke you muppet. Shitty Balls :(

Sounds like Marty Clarke's job is on the line this weekend, the 36ers really should've pulled the trigger a long time ago:

How many times in the past couple of years have they been in front at half or three quarter time and been beaten....staggering.

I would have boned him mid last season.

I'm by no means a basketball expert - I follow the 6'ers from afar (I did enjoy their work in the 80's,90's) - but my impression is that Clarke is probably a good teacher one on one with basketballers, however is deficient when it comes to the full job description of an NBL coach (ie. tactics, motivation etc etc).

Pretty fair description I think. Before the 36ers (first pro gig) he was the coach at the AIS which is all about developing young players where wins & losses are irrelevant. Now in pro-basketball he's really struggled with (a) coaching adults especially veterans with his 'every kid wins a prize' substituion patterns, (b) working with the media-it was clear early on he needed some media training getting too defensive in interviews with basic questioning, made his now infamous comment about wins & losses not being that important and trumpeting his supposed 3 year plan of development plus for a lengthy period refusing to speak to the state's one pro basketball journo from the only newspaper in town (Boti Nagy-News Ltd) because he felt he was too critical of him early on.

Most importanly (c) a bit like Neil Craig when at the Crows Clarke's game day coaching is woeful. He has his set plays, rotations and subsitution patterns seemingly set out from tip off to the final buzzer and come hell or high water will he differ from them. Forget the appalling 5-9 record this season and the current 6 game losing streak it's the way the team loses the game against the Breakers in NZ when the 36ers had a lead at 3qtr time then lost by 14, the game against the Hawks at home again had the lead at 3qtr time and lost by 14, losing to the Wildcats at home in OT despite having an 11 point lead at 3qtr time, lost to the Crocs at home by 5 when leading at 3qtr time and of course just losing to the Breakers at home by 5 when the 36ers lead by 21 at half-time and 14 at 3qtr time.

Well done Gozu, thats exactly what I was saying. Its an amazing stat. I reckon his half time speech must be so boring it puts them to sleep or he changes tatics at halftime and does a West Adelaide and tells them to just play defence.
