This is how close the league is this season. The top team Perth is 6-5 the 8th team Melbourne is 5-7.

The lower team on the ladder won every game this round too.

You're right and sets up a mouth watering game against Perth.

A bit like Spargo with Brisbane, I absolutely love nothing more than beating Perth!

In saying that we've lost 3 of our 4 games at home this season ;)

Just on last nights game if the Kings are top then the standard of the pacesetters compared to years gone by have dead set gone down the toilet. The Kings were terrible for a top of the table team. Gaze was terrible as coach aswell.

Not defending the Kings performance last night (they were more impressive in the game against Melb which they lost to a 3 on the buzzer from Casper Ware) but I'm pretty sure I heard the commentators say that officially this is the closest NBL season in history up to this point in the season.

Sydney 8-6
Perth 6-5
Brisbane 6-5
Illawarra 6-6

New Zealand 6-6
Cairns 5-6
Adelaide 5-6
Melbourne 5-7

I mean that is a pretty crazy ladder for how tight things are this season. Personally I've never enjoyed a season as much this season not just with how close everyone is but the standard of talent in the league too. I'd much rather see this than a couple of teams dominating like Perth & NZ over the past 5-6 years.

Also with the Kings I don't think many myself included thought Steve Blake would struggle as much as he did. For a guy that had played the last 13 years in the NBA including last season he was barely back-up PG standard here.

Other imports like Jameel McKay, Devin Williams and even the 36ers Eric Jacobsen all were invited by NBA teams to play in the NBA Summer League this offseason but have for the most part struggled in the NBL. Terrance Ferguson expected to be a first-round pick in next year's NBA draft is barely a role player on the 36ers. Which again probably points to the standard of the NBL these days.
